Best Buy DOTD: Rise of the Tomb Raider (X1) - $24.99 ($19.99 w/ GCU)

I can't. Bestbuy already mutilated my wallet over the last couple of weeks. #.# lemme go try to see if I can start working on my 400+ game backlog
 
Will wait for this to drop to $20 before GCU.

Won't be waiting for the PS4 version unless it has extra content.  I've been picking up more games for XB1 unless the PS4 is way better in terms of graphical quality.  Usually, it's just marginally better but the XB1 versions of games cost less than the PS4 version by $5-$10 which due of my limited budget means a lot.

Especially since it comes out when all PS4 games are required to have a "Neo" mode. Definitely worth waiting for that alone, but also trophies and likely included DLC.. I've waited this long, might as well wait until November.

I'm just waiting for the PC version to hit $10 

All my other TR games are on PC might as well finish the series up on the same steam system. 

 
I wish they included the 360 version for this, which has been sitting around $40 even when the X1 version drops well below it. In fact, they 360 version is listed as being on clearance at Best Buy but is still $40. What??

I won't have any current gen systems for a very long time and I really want to play this. $20 would be my buy price.

Bought the game in-store last week at $24 w/ GCU. Do I have to go back to the store to get a price adjustment? Or is it possible get that done via e-mail / calling customer support?

I think you can but hey it's only a phone call away to find out lol. I've done it for online orders but bby is really strange with policy sometimes.

It was going to work but a trainer walked up and asked what the cw was for. He told me he personally didn't care if the associate did it or not but they were cracking down and the associate declined to do it because she was a new hire.

Thank you both! I bought it for $14.99 with cartwheel. That was the first time I didn't get turned down with a pricematch+cartwheel in at least 6 months. I was going to Target tonight anyway and I happened to read this thread right before I left the house. Otherwise I admit it wouldn't have been worth the trouble to save the extra $5 over GCU.

Now here's the bad part. I still haven't played "Tomb Raider Definitive Edition" and I still have my copy of Uncharted 4 sitting here waiting to be opened. I'm going to get my freakin' Indiana Jones wish fulfillment this summer.

But the good part is all 3 of those games are pure gold. :)

 
I honestly feel like Microsoft pushed for exclusivity only so they could put this game out on 360. In some way that probably hurt what the game could've accomplished in a innovative sense.

All that bogus stuff aside. I loved the first one but want this on my ps4. Hopefully this kinda exclusive deal becomes a lesson learned.

Why does everyone forget the key part of this exclusive deal. It was only for a year on consoles and more importantly they said without Microsoft's investment they wouldn't have given the game the greenlight at all despite good sales of the first one. So before you guys go hating Microsoft just remember to thank them for helping get this game out.

If that was the case it wouldn't be a timed exclusive.

This game was going to be made with or without Microsoft. Both sides just made a bad deal all around.

This is not a Titanfall / Street Fighter V situation, the game was already very far in development, Microsoft paid to keep it off of other consoles.. get your facts straight.

Your right I got more anecdotal evidence confused with what actually took place a year ago. Looking back at past articles they support it heavily but it was all rumors that it only happened because of Microsoft. Mainly due to square saying five million units was garbage for the 2013 game and then the exclusive deal being made.

Also that sfv deal was garbage at least tomb raider worked when it launched.

E3 has come and gone and there is zero evidence to suggest that this game is ever coming out for the Playstation 4.

God damn Microsoft.

 
Rise of the Tomb Raider is still coming to PlayStation 4. It's a one year timed exclusive for Xbox One which means the game can't be released until after November 10th. It could be a late November release but im thinking that it will be an early 2017 release.
