So my 60 gig original fat system died a little over a year ago (its been reflowed 3 times...this thing is gone gone gone)

I miss playing my PS3 games and a friend of mine is willing to sell me his Slim PS3 160 gig. He takes good care of his games as I do so im not worried that its beat up or anything.

I offered him $110 for it, is that a good price? Should it be higher? Lower?

Also is the Slim model the most reliable model of PS3? I know they made the super slim (K) model later on but I don't like it, it looks flimsy.

Thoughts?

I bought a 320GB Playstation 3 from a pawn shop last year; that cost about $80 but it was hardly in sterling condition. $110 is probably reasonable for what you're getting, especially if games are included.

Also, I like my slim PS3. It runs a bit warm and it doesn't like to play DVDs (the lens probably needs cleaning) but it's been quite reliable. You're right about the K series; I don't like those either.

I bought a used slim off of Amazon in 2010 and it's still going strong.  I bought a super slim last year and use it for streaming and watching movies in the bedroom.  No issues with it either.  Either way, I think you'll be fine but should probably test it to make sure it plays discs without issues and he didn't do something to get the console banned.
