People were taking advantage of the 50% trade bump (if you trade in a game towards Doom), and then returning Doom to another store? That would be my guess.

Edit:

Although I saw the 50% trade bump for Doom, it appears as though it wasn't limited to just a 1-to-1 trade in. You could trade in as many games as you wanted toward Doom and anything over the $60 (price of Doom) would be applied to a gift card. People were taking advantage of BB to GS trades, such as Mincraft Story Mode, which you could get for $12 (after GCU) and flip to GS for ~$28.

Looks like it's over.

Nothing will compare to the GS values this past weekend and this week Walmart doesn't have any great values that stand out to me. Some weeks they do have solid trade values , even on older games.

One guy said he traded 10 copies of Minecraft to GS. I would act like I'm surprised, but blatant stupidity seems to run rampant when this type of thing pops up.
