Not sure how much attention this will get, but it would be nice to have more people to play with in Overwatch and group up. You get a 20% EXP bonus for just being in a party. There are a few in this thread, but I think this might get more attention for PC players outside of posting directly into the Steam Discussion Thread in the Deals section.

Feel free to friend people on the list in the wiki and add yourself to the list as well. People who communicate, preferably with mics, would be greatly appreciated.

Posted my info. Don't forget that grouping up not only increases your win chances, it's pretty fun and 20% bonus xp for more loot and leveling.

 
Posted my info, I usually play with my college buddies so I may jump out to play with them, but I will still be open to playing with CAG's whenever I am not with them.

I added my stuff yesterday but may be busy most of the weekend.  Literally a noob with this.  Played a warm up against the bots and played one one of the characters so new but willing to learn.

I'd say filling whatever character is needed at the time is pretty common though. On defense for escort and assault maps, I usually play Symmetra who has the highest win % of all the characters for the first point and then switch (Except for maybe Route 66 & Dorado). I generally prefer healing (Mercy), but use Lucio almost exclusively for control maps. Though I do some offensive or tanking when I get tired of that.

I don't really snipe at all. I used to be pretty good at it, but these days I suck pretty hard at it. I swear my shots are more accurate than the times I get killed from a sniper though.

Finally bough Overwatch last night. Just starting out played 4 hours last night with my cousin and reached level 10. hehe! that 20% group exp bonus really helps. adding my name in the list and adding everyone

Experience per level caps off at level 23 with 22k per level. When you hit level 100, you go back to 1 and are essentially getting a new frame every 10 levels for at least 1890 total levels. Plus most experience gained is just by simply playing the match via time invested. But yeah, played a fair amount early on. Not playing quite as much now as I did then.

For the next couple weeks I'll probably be playing a single player game or two. So if anybody messages me between 6PM and 10PM Eastern, I should usually respond and will likely be up for playing some games. I don't really play past 11PM Eastern. Though I'm fairly certain that's when nitro gets most of his game time in.

Need to watch videos for strategies! Since im fairly new to this game. (Never did the betas), im getting a beating most of the time. Hehe! I do follow instructions and try to stay with groups. I tend to play alot of defense char like junkray and torbjorn. I did some reinhardt during payload matches and get the concept of the shield but it seems like i cant kill at all due to him to slow. For offense, i got lucky and got a lengendary skin for genji so im using more of hom then any other offese char. Not sure how to use his specials properly though. Lol!
 
This weeks Weekly Brawl is Random Heroes that change every time you spawn/respawn. I think I kinda like this one over the last two. Though the first one was good for learning ultimates while this one is good for learning characters you don't normally play. Be prepared to lose though as team composition is highly random.

I did a couple of brawlmatches this week. Yaeh! Its hard with constant char change evrytime you respawn. Its usually a given that the team carrying the payload will lose. Its already hard playing it with random players it became harder with random character respawns! Just hit level 23 i think.

Did anyone of use guys buy loot crates? Ended up buying crayes just to get skins. Hehe! Lucky i ended up with a couple of legendaries skins for the characters that i usually llay like junkrat, thorbjorn, and genji. Hehe!

I am not going to be buying loot crates. Nothing against them, but I think it partially ruins the fun for me. I have fun getting a loot box and then having that fuck moment when it sucks. Just paying for them takes out the effort of trying to get one and it would feel less important to me once I earned one.

 
Yeah, loot crates seem appealing to purchase early on but aren't really worth it. You can get duplicates, which provide you with 1/5th of their purchase value with 5 coins being the lowest I believe.

I think I've gotten the following legendaries:

- 500 Coins

- Toa Roadhog (x2; 2nd was 200 coins for a dupe)

- Young Hanzo

- Odile Widowmaker

- Frogston Winston

- Breakaway Lucio (Hockey w/ Mask)

I'm level 70 currently though. So that means I've gotten one about every 10 boxes. In coins, I have about 2100 coins and have bought two intros for Zenyatta and Mercy. Have a few others that I haven't bought but only a few. Still not sure what I'm going to spend my coins on. (Based on numbers from a bunch of people you should typically get a legendary about 6-10% of the time. Unfortunately having shit luck doesn't help.)

Will be on a bit starting tomorrow now that I am back from vacation and finished up with the crap jobs necessary to (hopefully) stop water from coming into my basement.  Ugh.  Sorry for lack of playing but I've added everyone who friended me before I left on vacation.

 
I have come to realize the past few days how OP Tobjorn is. The past few days my experience has been how good the Tobjorn is on defense will determine my chance of winning because a lot more people are playing him now. It used to be every few games, but now it's like every 1/2 games on defense there is at least one. Especially since his ult charges insanely fast and he can get a turret up in no time. I really don't have a problem with any other champ atm, just Tobjorn.

He is even more broken on consoles.

 
I do agree that Torbjörn's ultimate charges a bit too fast, but the only times I have trouble with him is when the rest of the enemy team is performing very well or my team is performing pretty shitty (Which is hard to tell apart and usually a combination of the two).

I've gone against a stacked Torbjörn team of 5 + 1 Symettra recently on Route 66 as well and didn't really have much of an issue. My team members stayed behind my Reinhardt shield allowing me to take most of the turret fire and we took out their turrets really quick then downed them pretty easily. I don't think they stored up much scrap for the extra armor boost during their ultimate and dropped pretty quick when they did use their ultimate. Though if they were more competent/coordinated, then I think we may have had more of an issue but our composition to fight back against them as pretty good out of the gate and my team was pretty well coordinated.

I do think the turret will get nerfed on consoles, but I'm not too sure about PC. Maybe a slight nerf but I don't think more than that will happen. It might just be how much the turret effects the ultimate gain speed for Torb. Though I think Widowmaker needs that nerf as well with how fast her ultimate becomes available and how long it lasts.

 
I agree - I think Torbs are infinitely more annoying to console players than they are for PC players. Part of the issue I think lies with the age groups playing, it seems to me that the console players are younger and don't typically build around their opposition, rather going mostly for whoever is gonna do more damage (I like to call it The Call of Duty Effect).

On top of the disadvantage console players have with movement due to the controller limitations, stacking 5 Torbs and basically just turret AFKing for a win isn't a horrible solution.

I would, however, like to see a slight change to the charge rate for Mei's ult. Someone with as much damage potential and survivability shouldn't be able to just mass freeze an entire team on a point as quickly as she can.

 
New character announcement, Anna, the sniper healer. She has an interesting loadout too from the looks of things that could potentially be really powerful if you don't suck at sniping.

It also looks like they will be implementing a one hero per team limit in Competitive mode, which will be patched in soon. The patch will also include buffs to Zenyatta and D.Va. Also if you didn't know already, then they are also removing Sudden Death in Season 2 of Competitive mode. PTR Patch Notes.

Yeah, I tested her out on the training grounds a bit on PTR. Her heals have insane hitbox, which is probably good. More so since she doesn't have any movement mechanics like Widowmaker/Genji/Hanzo to get really good vantage points. On the other hand, the hitbox when damaging the enemy team is much more normal. Oh and she can't crit on healing or damage.

That heal grenade though... If you hit enemies with it, you prevent healing for a short duration. Serious potential there depending on how easy it is to throw accurate which unfortunately did not test. Cooldown isn't terrible either.

So i tried competitve play 2 weeks ago and got 5 wins out of 10 and got 48 for my initial placement rating. 15 games later, im down to level 39. Crap! Kept on getting paired with people who only wants to get kills and and not do the objectives. Most of the ones i get paired are barely inthe 30s. It was also the time were heroes can stack so the other team cheeses! Pisses me off.

Wished the cap to open Competitve play was higher than 25. That would have helped alot in screening out casual players.

Sucks that gaining levels is so much harder than losing levels. Since im stuck on the lower level pool right now with crappy players and probably zero team spirit, i may have to wait playing CP again until the next season.
 
Unless things have changed it's still currently bugged so that if someone leaves, the win nets you a minimal amount of experience (I think loses are the same when someone leaves? I can't remember). This can make it really hard to level up if most of your wins have someone on the other team that leaves (Even if it's in the last 10 seconds). Until they fix that, I won't touch competitive. Leaving too many games can get you banned from the season, however it apparently isn't strong enough since there seem to be a significant amount of leavers still.

Currently the only reason to play competitive would be to gain points to buy gold weapon skins with the points you accumulate for winning. I'm not really a fan of the gold weapon skins, so I don't think I'll touch this season.

New update that gives limited time loot box items, including skins on some characters. Can't buy with in-game currency (Boo) and one guaranteed item from normal loot boxes. Lasts until August 23rd.

I want some of the skins (Red Mercy, Sprinter Tracer, Soccer Lucio), so I'll probably be playing a bit more than I have lately. Though I thought more characters would have skins, like the sprays they showed such as Table Tennis Mei. Sad.

EDIT: Lucioball is kinda cool.

I am also disappointed not every character got skins. Personally I wanted the gymnast widow and rhythmic gymnast symm. I do want the Red Mercy, any of the Tracer Skins, and any of the Lucio skins. I would have killed for the Ping Pong Mei......literally killed since I would be farming up loot boxes till I got them. If I can get those 3 skins....I'll likely be happy. Too bad it's all DDOS battle.net right now.

 
Junkrat only got a highlight intro!!! Boo!! I wanted a skin! Tsk! I do like the mercy skin too! Hope i do get that before the event ends
 
I'm playing usually getting a level or 2 every day. I play around 8-10 PM MST daily or so. I'm available so you can just message me.

So far I've just unlocked the Lucio emote where he kicks the soccer ball. It's cool, and hopefully I get some skins soon.

Well, I opened 20 boxes at once from leveling and I got all the sprays I wanted, but only the Lucio skin (twice even) of the three I wanted. Kinda disappointing and hopefully I can at least get Mercy's before it ends.

New Skill Rating System:

  • Ranging from 1-5000 which gets rid of the fractional increments
  • If you win or lose, you'll be going up/down whole numbers.
  • For "Top 500 Players" there will be a requirement of having played at least 50 matches
Introducing Skill Rating Tiers:

  • 7 tiers
  • Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master and Grand Master
  • Gold (Level 2000-2499)
  • For all tiers besides Master and Grand Master, you won't be allowed to drop lower for the season. So if you reach Gold you won't ever drop down to Silver even if you drop below the initial requirement for that tier
  • Season rewards will be based on what tier you reach
Sudden death is going away completely:

  • Control Maps: There is no sudden death. Games still play best out of 5
  • Assault Maps: Will still play like the Season 1 time bank system
  • Changes to Assault: Bonus 30 seconds after the first initial cap. This is so that the game doesn't instantly end if the attacking team captures the first point in overtime.
  • Changes to Payload and Hybrid Payload maps: There will be no Sudden Death. Instead, teams will play on a time bank system similar to Assault. If your team finishes the map with time to spare, you'll later get a second round on Attack to see how far you can push the payload the second time.
  • Originally when you captured a point with 30 seconds left, it would bump up your timer to 2 minutes. That will be decreased to 1 minute.
  • There will be ties but it will be very rare
  • Ties only apply if: Both teams don't push the payload at all & If both teams don't cap Point A
  • If a tie happens, both teams will receive CP but it won't be as much as a win
Competitive Points received is being increased by x10:

  • So if you have 50CP now, you'll have 500 in Season 2
  • The cost of Golden Weapons will increase to reflect this
Smurfing will be addressed

  • The skill gap limit between one player to another will be 500 levels.
  • Example: If you're level 2000, you can only play with other players between 1500-2500
  • This system will be tested in PTR and will be adjusted based on feedback to balance it correctly
Skill Rating Decay:

  • Only applies to top end players
  • If you're within Diamond, Master and Grand Master your level will decrease by 50 every 24 hours if you don't play for Competitive for a week
  • This has a floor limit so you won't drop infinitely.
  • This system is meant to keep top players constantly playing to keep their high rank instead of just stopping once they reach it

Literally the only thing that was ruining ranked for me. Glad to see the change.

But I'm sure I still lose 4 ranks for every loss and only gain 1 rank if I win.

I think the main difference now will be how people perceive it. Before all you had was a small range of numbers that you can't really classify well and wish such a small number pool it felt terrible to go down. Now it'll be tiered that people will mostly notice first with numbers secondary. It won't make people feel as bad unless they're someone who teeters on the edge between two tiers when they lose.

Man hate that there is a riptire bug. Hope they patch this thing up! I feel like i got ripoff from my placement matches since none of my riptire kills got registered. Would probably have a better rating. Tsk!

I swear if I am unable to get the Mercy skin again, I quit. 100% full RNG really blows if you can't spend credits to purchase these time restricted skins despite playing the shit out of the game while they're available.

EDIT: You can buy these skins, but holy fuck Mercy's legendary skin is 3,000 coins. Seems all themed skins are triple the price of their rarity.

Time to drop another $40 to get loots. stuff! Blizzard knows how to take my money. Hehe! I dont have the luxury to grind for levels so this is the only option. I need that junkrat and mercy skin.

Was placed at 2400+ gold tier. Same as the 1st season, during the 1st week, went into into losing streak solo queueing and ended up in the 1900 range! For some reason i cant get into a reasonable winning streak. I would climb up to 2100 but then itl be losng more games again getting paired with silly teammates who wouldnt want to switch to what the the team needs. This season i started being more of a support main to improve my arsernal. It did help my game but being matched with teammates who only think about elims more than objective just kills me.
 
Would love to group up with those in my same skill level.

I main Roadhog, Zen, Mei and Pharah but am decent with a lot of the characters.

My (current) rank is 2537 with a high of 2605.

I really prefer legit team players who are decent with a wide variety of characters. My battle.net tag is Nealocus1505

I'm PST and usually play a couple hours every other day from 6pm - 11pm. 

 
Am I a fuck ing idiot or did Overwatch take away the ability to see how much xp (number wise) you need for a level in your stats page? Really miss that feature because having the bars is ok, but I work better with a number amount of how much xp I need to level.

 
Nope, they removed it when they redid the UI within the last couple of patches. People definitely have been requesting it back since its removal too.
