Wombat is on point regarding E3. This may be most low key E3 I can remember, from a public perspective. I had to manually look up news just to hear what was happening. I don't remember seeing as much on twitter, not that I was actively seeking it out.

Graphically I think some of zelda looks kinda rough but for the most part I really like what I see. I've seen it described as studio ghibli -like.

The sony presser is the only press conference that being there was probably the much better experience. I personally enjoyed the Microsoft one more because they kept saying that everything was coming to PC.

I wonder how consoles sales will be impacted with the announcement of Scorpio. Not just Xbox but sony as well. Im sure there are people out there now that are very cautious going forward with Playstation, since a slim or high performance console could be right around the corner for them as well.

Anyone else a little concerned for Crackdown 3?  I can't see why it wasn't at the show unless it has some development issues.... or maybe there saving it for a launch title of the new console.

 
Wombat summed up my sentiments about E3 too. From my June 16th Facebook page:

"Confession: This year's E3 kind of bored me. Sure, there's games I want to play but nothing blew me away."

 
Hey guys, great job on the show as always. Ive been listeneing for many years now and the show is always a nice end to my week. I rarely comment so please dont take this as an 'attack', just more passing on some helpful knowledge.

I'm sorry to say but i have to disagree with Cheapys comment regarding 4K as a gimmick. I believe Cheapy bought a 4K TV to soon, the specs hadn't been finalised by the UHD alliance and his only source is streaming Netflix. I'm going to assume Cheapys TV isn't HDR capable?

Once you witness 4K HDR blu ray in your own home it truly is a stunning leap from HD.

But I can understand watching a compressed 4K Netflix stream without HDR isn't as ground breaking as some would hope.

If anyone is looking to buy a 4K set, do yourself a favour and get an OLED 4K HDR, if that isn't an option then make sure your new set has HDR. Set your picture to Cinema/Movie/thx mode, turn off all processing options and enjoy.

I also have to agree with Wombat 100% about E3. I struggled to care and there didn't seem to be any wow moments.

If Nintendo had officially announced the NX and had a mock of the case, along with the Zelda stuff they would have totally owned this year's show.
 
Listened to Wombat's audioboom. Oh hell ya, I'm excited for Gears of War 4! My second favorite gaming franchise, just barely behind Halo. That recent beta reminded me how much I like it. Co-op Team Deathmatch was a great new mode.

Also Wombat next time to stream check the box so Twitch will archive it. I was out of town when you streamed Until Dawn but couldn't watch it when I got home.

No offense to him but I am not a fan of Thorbon(or whatever his name is) on the show. In my opinion his flow of conversation just doesn't work with Cheapy and Shipwreck. Other then that it was a good episode.

He seems like a nice guy but on the podcast he's so low energy.

 
Cheapy I love your work but your mumbling and vocal fry abilities have achieved a new plane of painful in recent months. It's hard to listen to with headphones. Use that booming voice!
