Namco announces TEKKEN 5

Maybe it's time for me to get back into Tekken.

Allls I can say is, "What, no Soul Calibur 3?"

While the Tekken series is my favorite fighting franchise, I hope Namco does better on Tekken 5 than they did on Tekken 4. It would be great if they could bring back some of the features from Tekken Tag Tournament that 4 lost, such as character variations (i.e. Nina/Anna, Gun Jack/Kuma, the original Jin/Kazuya, etc.). I liked having slight variations in the move sets, as well as just having a larger character roster. And BRING BACK TAG MODE (and even Tekken Ball)!!!

In addition, I'd hope they make the walls more interactive (i.e. being able to do special moves/throws off the walls, a la the DOA series). I have to say, however, that Tekken Force mode in Tekken 4 was excellent. I hope they expand on that as well, and maybe even make a simultaneous 2-player mode with Tekken Tag-Style team attacks. How sweet would that be?

That Asuka character looks kickass. She has that one same move Jin used in Tekken 3. Cant quite put my finger on the name tho.

The trailer looks great. I like the new character Feng Wei. So there are only 13 playable characters total? No Heihachi Mishima?

the only tekken i ever liked was tekken tag, i just cant get into them

Heihachi has had back problems since like tekken 2. I love tekken though so this is music to my ears. Tekken 4 was good... I don't know what all the fuss was about.

I liked TAG and 3. 1 was okay but I hated 2.

Yes! hopefully the low parry is still universal, I hope they bring more just frame moves in.

It had better not be console exclusive. If it is, it seems like another game that should have been an arcade release will be going to just to consoles. I can't stand how the arcade industry is in so much trouble
