The British Pound is taking a beating due to the Brexit. Because of this the British Pound's value is at a low so i figured I'd make a thread while the conversion rate is in our favor for the time being. Here are some stores below, but if you know of any others please reply with them below.

Amazon doesn't ship video games from UK to US.  Also considering that MSRP prices are substantially higher in Europe than the US I don't see how this is a deal.  Being generous maybe there is some brief advantage on rare games before sellers adjust, but I have a feeling this is partly a troll on British =P~

Cheers love! What a bloody brillant idea mate! Bollocks though, not to be cheeky here, but I'm a bit knackered to post any wicked deals just yet.

Amazon will ship some games to the US as I just got the star ocean limited edition shipped from them.

The British Pound is taking a beating due to the Brexit. Because of this the American dollar's value is about $1.33 to every pound so i figured I'd make a thread while the conversion rate is in our favor for the time being. You have your math backwards. It costs us $1.33 to get £1. It was about $1.60 to £1 before so I guess in that sense things will be "cheaper", but the conversion rate still isn't in our favor

Just pay attention to the exchange rate on your card and if you decide to have the company bill you in USD or GBP at the time the order is placed.  I was reading on DVDTalk that most cards tack on an additional currency conversion fee if its billed in a different currency than your card is in.  With Amazon UK you can lock in their exchange rate and be billed in USD which may or may not be the better option depending on your card.  Other sites may have that option as well.

https://usa.visa.com/support/consumer/travel-support/exchange-rate-calculator.html  This shows you their currency conversion and lets you calculate the additional % for an international transaction.

https://www.mastercard.com/global/currencyconversion/ This shows you their currency conversion

If my memory serves me, I think all of my cards charge me 3% for international charges, even if it's being sold in usd. Even PayPal charges a fee, but I don't remember how much it was. I expect it now but it was a shock the first time

Paypal also has a lousy exchange rate that is not anywhere near realtime. Credit card companies often have a bad exchange rate as well, especially if they don't charge an international transaction fee.

Yeah, the USD is only worth 0.75 GBP right now. It hasn't dropped that much, yet.
Yep. People that go on spending sprees because of this topic and think they're getting deals are going to be very sad after they realize how much they've spent.

The only places that give better margins than visa are companies that specialize in currency trading. You aren't getting a better rate from Citi or BoA.

Well Best Buy doesn't sell European region exclusives so...

Obviously nobody's buying stuff from the UK that's available in more or less the same form (and cheaper) in North America.

Are there any fees if I use the Chase Sapphire Preferred? They promote no foreign transaction fees but I'm wondering if there is a catch to that.

You're good, I have the chase freedom, which is essentially the non annual fee version of the preferred, and I have never paid any kind of fee. I buy things from Japan all the time.

Does anyone know of any good sources for blurays? Looking to fill some holes in my anime collection. I know Amazon and zavvi.

You must buy from sites that charge you in USD (which sometimes have fees built in) as the Chase Freedom has a 3% fee for currency conversion. CSP does not have this fee so it doesn't matter what currency is charged on the card.

Edit: A good card with no fee to buy from foreign sites or use while travelling is the Capital One Quicksilver. It has no forex fee and has 1.5% cashback.

I've been looking for a UK site selling Shenmue 2 for Dreamcast but all I can find is Amazon, most 3rd parties don't ship to the US.  Anyone know of any good used game stores with older titles like that?

I imported the Hotel Dusk sequel we never got and boy is it dull as dirt.  The only other Euro imports I can think of that I'd want are Siren 2 for PS2 and the Tingle game for DS we never got.

Tingle's Testes Rupee Rapeland? I'd love to get that game, even if I'll be placed on an FBI watch list for playing it.

Speaking of UK versions, anyone know where I can get PAL version of Rugby 15 for the 360 and the One at the same place?  Play-Asia has the One version but not the 360.  Amazon.uk has them both, but does not ship to the USA.
