BB Wii U Kirby and the Rainbow Curse $32 ($26 GCU)

In all seriousness I do want to play KRC but from all I've heard that's an almost good game at best.

If it were a PSN or Xbox title I'd pick it up on a $5 flash sale, the fact I'm willing to spend $20 is generous.

Side note, why's it in "clearance"?

2ND wave of nintendo selects. I thought I remembered reading somewhere that there will be a second wave this year. It would make sense for them to do kirby and star fox. Also the little bit of this game I've played I really enjoyed. The biggest gripe is the fact that your never looking at your TV.

Probably not  going to do a star fox select this year given it just came out a few months ago and has had lukewarm reception.

I can see this being a new Selects title, along with Captain Toad and maybe some older WiiU games.
I'm hoping Hyrule Warriors (Wii U) is on that list. Only WM and Target have the game around me and it's full price at both.

I should probably pick up Captain Toad then before that happens because I can't stand the Selects packaging and am still trying to find a used copy of Pikmin 3 non-Selects.

Kirby is a lot of fun and well worth the price IMO. I picked it up when it came out and really enjoyed it, the game isn't perfect, but it's a lot of fun.

Yeah, Nintendo selects packaging isn't good looking. I wish they did it like the Player's choice on GC. Just a bar on top of the artwork.

Too bad Nintendo forced people to draw shapes on the gamepad for this entire game, really ruins the ability to enjoy it on the TV. They were obviously trying to illustrate the benefits of the gamepad, but instead they basically crippled the game.

The game is a successor to an original DS game Kirby Canvas Curse that did the whole drawing lines for platforms bit which was an early game made to benefit from the touch screen. As a successor it sort of requires the touch screen.

The they should have kept the series on the 3DS. Why bother displaying the game on the big screen TV, when you're forced to play it strictly on the tiny low-res gamepad? Not a well thought out control scheme for a Wii U game, at all.

I agree, probably should have been 3DS. The TV in the game is for nothing more than spectator mode, no way you can play with it unless you are some kind of Starfox Zero pro. Not sure why Nintendo thinks it makes good gameplay to have to use the touchpad for more than info purposes.

Grabbed the digital version for $21.59 and tax with the My Nintendo discount during the E3 sale, but nice price for those wanting a physical copy. Add me to the list of the people that thinks this should have been on the 3DS instead, solely on the fact that all of the gameplay is restricted to the lower res Gamepad and you can't enjoy HD visuals on the big TV. Unless of course you're the one not playing the game itself and just watching alongside the player...

I don't understand why this wasn't a 3ds game. :/
It would have been a fantastic 3DS game. Nothing I saw required the power of the WiiU to accomplish, obviously lower res for the 3DS but still. The first was a great DS game, especially back when the DS had such a dry catalog early on.

They need to justify its existence when all it does is serve inventory/map duty. That is when its implementation isn't making games worse like with Star Fox.
