My old fat PS3 died a bit ago, and I am looking for a replacement. I hear the slim is my best bet, but I wanted to know if anyone has any good leads on deals, or if I should just go with a Gamestop refurbish. Thanks!

It's very difficult to find it new. Sony rep stated they haven't stopped producing it but I haven't seen it new anywhere.

Thanks for the reply, I heard the same. I hear negative things about the super slim which is why I am hesitant to pick that one up. Any thoughts on gamestop refurbished models?

Well, my definition for a true refurbished product means it is done by the original company. I personally wouldn't get a "refurbished" system from Gamestop but there aren't many options at this point. Definitely don't buy used from them. I would think your best option would be the Best Buy Outlet (Sorry, i can't post links yet; google it) which is what Cowboom became. I got my PS3 off Cowboom before Best Buy gobbled them and it's still working very nicely.

They still have ps3s.

Thank you for the tips. I may go with Best buy outlet, or try my hand at ebay, honestly I dont want to got to a gamestop model if I dont have to.

Sadly I don't Dragon. I mostly only buy PC parts from them (and never had a problem there)
