If you have a new game in the plastic unopened and you don't have the receipt. Can you exchange it at Gamestop for something else? Not trading it in as used.

If not gamestop can you do this at walmart?

Gamestop doesn't even take in sealed games for trade-ins, so no for Gamestop.

Walmart will take it in, but you will have to give them your driver's license information, and they'll only give you a prorated amount that's not necessarily what they have the game price listed as, whether in-store, or online.

 
Yeah I didn't think gamestop would. They are so difficult to deal with. That's why I asked so I could avoid even walking in there. Thanks.

They still take in no receipt returns, but now you actually have to show ID, and they track your returns now, compared to before when they never tracked it.

This is obviously due to the number of return issues they were having to deal with, so they had to at least change part of their policy.

It's been at least 3-4 years since they started taking ID for them.
