Tokyo Mirage Sessions # FE Special Edition - In Stock @ Best Buy, Gamestop

Mattiful-Joe

Henshin a go-go, baby!
Title says it all.

Available at Best Buy and Gamestop.  Sold out at Amazon, Target, and everywhere else.

I presume this is a very limited supply, as I doubt the Big N is reprinting a Fire Emblem game on a console that's essentially been running on fumes for the last year.

Best Buy Link (UPDATE 7/20/16 - Came back in stock - last place to get it)

Gamestop Link (OOS)

A very fun game - especially for those who love the quirky Japanese RPGs.

It actually was OOS at Best Buy for a while but just came back in stock recently.  Doubt it was a restock though, probably just returns or part of the original stock held back.

Probably all the ones they shipped in a bubble mailer that got returned because it got smashed to hell.

Enjoy your smashed boxes everybody!

Can confirm one at my store came in slightly damaged. I mean i guess if you really wanted the extras this will work.

Hm, the Persona 5 Special Edition seems like it offers way better stuff for only $10 more. Think I'll hold out for that

Ordered from Gamestop (when BB didn't have it up) and of course, they mail in a damn bubble mailer.  Game was crushed all over.

Gonna return it, and glad I was able to get an order in on BB.  GCU and I had a gift card, anyway!

I walked into Best Buy today to get GCU finally but now that I'm home and I add it to cart I'm not seeing the discount when I sign in and go to checkout. What am I doing wrong?

It's not instantly linked unfortunately, so you may need to give it a day or two, or at least until the end of the night.

Glad i cancelled my order, i expected xeno all over again, and its pretty much what happened.
Hmmm -- I don't think this SE will be like Xenoblade - this IS Fire Emblem and Persona/SMT - those fanbases are built out of a very different cloth than Xenoblade's.

Also, Gamestop is now OOS. Best Buy is the last way to get in on this SE -- and then, well, watch those eBay prices soar.

It was just like xenoblade, as in, paper sleeve that was shipped in a bubble mailer.

Fanbases have absolutely no impact on how a company packages and ships a game. I think you misunderstood what i was talking about.

GCU finally attached to my account THANK GOD. I snatched this up immediately.  Barely made it before the buzzer too I imagine.  I consider myself supremely fortunate picking this up for $63 so late in the game. It's estimated to be available for pickup on Thursday. I'm praying the pickup option results in gentler care compared to shipping it in some puny paper mailer but I won't hold my breath.  Card board box CE's are always the worst in such regard...

Hopefully pickup will work out. Get there ASAP as im betting most of this restock are returns from damaged shipments. That way, you can pick out a good one :D

Got one at my local BB. Box was dented and was on a 50% off manager's special cart. With GCU came out to under $30 for the SE!

Seems like Best Buy has a few more back in stock -- though I suspect these indeed might be returns since it's almost assuredly not a real restock.

Is this SE worth owning?
For rarity, yes. As to the contents; for the $20 before discounts extras, you get the $9 worth of DLC for the game that's on the EShop, a CD with 6 songs, some stickers, a few CD-sized artworks, and a soft cover artbook similar to the one with Fire Emblem Fates SE.

This game's special edition was the thing that finally pushed me to get GCU.  Took over a day to take hold with my account and now that it's situated... I scored three more wii u games for $24 each! Even Xenoblade! THANK YOU TOKYO MIRAGE! =D

I returned my Collectors edition yesterday and got a $68 gift card. I coupled that with a $10 BB reward and snagged Xenoblade, Mario Maker, and Star Fox with no cash or credit :)

I hope the standard edition will hit $20-30 this year.

I think $29.99 during Black Friday is a possibility, though new Nintendo releases tend not to fall that low in their first year and I don't think this game got the sort of print run Nintendo usually gives its core first party titles like Mario or Zelda.

One thing is certain - that SE though is going to be gone well before then.

It happened with Star Fox. It happened with Splatoon. You never know.

Why do you think it will be gone? BB still has Xenoblade Chronicles X SE available.

This thread reminds me that I need to return a crushed one to Gamestop very soon.  (Think I've got a week left...)

God I wish CE's didn't come in flimsy cardboard boxes. I swear the games you most want to preserve for posterity and collecting are always the ones most prone to damage.

That has more to do with the fact that people thought this would be worth something and put in ridiculous numbers of preorders, causing Nintendo to print more. I remember the long crazy thread on CAG about people putting in multiple preorders at Amazon, Best Buy and Gamestop (among others).

I doubt the same is true with TMS #FE, a game that got zero publicity from the Big N and hardly a mention from any of the retailers. Heck, many stores didn't even feature it during the release week.

This is a Persona game disguised as a Fire Emblem title (admittedly, in a horrible way by putting #FE on there). NIntendo should have just called it Tokyo Mirage Sessions - Fire Emblem, but oh well.
