The fine print states that the pre-owned price guarantee cannot be combined with another offer. Your district manager probably just wanted a cheap copy of GTA V to trade in at a second store he visits today.

I understand the fine print and all, but I was able to pick up gta v, battleborn, mad max, and doom for $67 out the door with the rtm coupon. Cool people at the gs I go to. Love the name. Bobby's world was a great show when I was a kid.

That's pretty cheap. I picked up pre-owned copies of GTA V and Uncharted 4 for $25.55 each, new Battleborn with the exclusive figure for $19.99 and Mad Max for $15. That set me back around $90

My trade in credit came to 203.XX and I was happy because I my math was something like 170.XX. The guy then proceeded to tell me he could not give me this much in cash because the promo's don't stack with cash (bullshit according to the advertisement). He told me my cash total was going to be 185.XX "even though it says 203 on that screen". I didn't argue because by my math it should have only been 170 so I was till coming out 15 bucks ahead. This dude probably just stole 18 dollars in cash from me but I saw on my receipt he accidentally gave me trade in for 2 power adapters and 2 AV cables when I only traded in one of each. Maybe Karma will come back to bite him. Who knows.

No, he didn't pocket the money. It's been discussed that despite what the app says the cash value doesn't equal the credit value in store. Many have needed manual adjustments to get what they are supposed to.

Haven't read every comment but skimming through it seems like Gamestop's Pro Day was a YMMV deal.

Mad Max's trade in value is $11 at the moment. I'm planning to play it and keep it, but I hope the TIV holds just in case I don't like it. It got good reviews, so if it's decent, then Pro Day was worth it.

Great game. Good buy. :)

Didn't realize this was going on today, almost stepped into a store today too.

Also seems like the extra 10% doesn't automatically work like the website implies (according to GS thread). YMMV in arguing them to match the site.

They have to scan a bonus code... Which then didn't work for cash even though it showed on the site it would.

Yea I lost only $3 but the people at my store were confused too.

It's 39.99

Ad says "only $14.99" directly above Mad Max and ME Catalyst

And Mad Max, which was the only $14.99 game, didn't even ring up for that price without a manual override.

They scanned the coupon for mine, didn't need to manual override. I'd imagine the coupon system was their way to getting around the used prices are 20% lower than new prices.

That is some purposefully shady advertising...

So I guess count me in the crowd that's not getting the most from this "Pro" day. And I'm not even trading stuff in!

Battleborn rang up $30 for a new copy (after having to argue with the guy that yes, I wanted to buy a new copy), not $20. The ad was right in front of him at the register and he goes "oh, that's just for PS4 copies" even though it says right there "also for XB1/PC".

I haven't had any remarkably bad experiences up until now at this particular GameStop, and that's the first time I've dealt with this particular worker, but just wow.

Edit- I just went to check the in-store pickup price on their website and sure enough it's showing $29.99 at every store around here. In my cart online though it's taking the $10 off correctly. I had the PUR Pro card scanned in store and everything too, so I don't know.

There was a sheet of bar codes the employees had to scan to get the correct prices.

This explains a lot since he had really no idea about anything. I thought the bar codes were just for the extra trade-in credit or whatnot.

Oh well. Battleborn is $23.99 with GCU this week; I'll just get it there. Sure it's $4 more but I at least know I'll pay the correct price.

Edit- and apparently I have a $10 reward certificate at Best Buy too that I could use. So I guess that's not the worst outcome.

Just chiming in here as well, I was going to trade in a handful of games, figured out the value before going in, then when asking if I wanted cash or credit, gave me a lower value for the cash.  Knowing it was a one-day deal and TIV are subject to change daily, I took the lower cash value, but emailed corporate to ask how to go about receiving the difference.  I don't fault the cashier, his hands were tied as far as I could tell, but it seems odd that they don't have an override process available.

Only good thing about Pro day was I was able to cash out my credit for cash.
