I don't want discs. I don't want the clutter.

I happened to be thinking about whether Nintendo has released DKC Returns (Wii) in the eShop for the Wii U. Turns out they have... I could even have gotten it free!... a month ago.

I don't mind that they offered it free and I missed it. It just annoys me that it looks like one of those titles that was offered free for a limited period of time and, if you didn't happened to catch it, then it's gone forever.

Nintendo Land on eShop was the same way with them pulling it just before I bought my Wii U.

3DS has a series of GBA games which were offered for free to early adopters of the 3DS.. I came on just after that.

Just to be clear:

- I'm OK that I missed the free window on this. I get promotions and all that.

- It annoys me that Nintendo has a history of playing this game with their eShop.

You'd think that it was a product people wanted to buy and that they have already made it that they'd be willing to just sell it to you.

I don't believe DKCR was offered for free . . .

Oh, was it just a limited release if you were a My Nintendo person?

Either way, my point is: Just release it and be done with it instead of playing the games.

I gotcha and I agree. Just stock the damn eShop.

It kind of puts a sour taste in my mouth with regards to Nintendo.

I want to give them money. They make it hard for me to give them money.

Do I want to hop on the NX train for more of this nonsense? No.

You mean Nintendo is the only company that offers free games for a limited time? I'm sure glad Xbox and Playstation don't do that.

You obviously missed his point. It was offered digitally for a short time, then pulled from the eShop. Only available as physical now:
