Is this Dynasty Warriors style game? I'm into the idea of an Attack on Titan game, but man was that 3DS game horrible! 

 
actually already received my points for attack on titan. game shipped already for me and recieved the DLC

 
Its a Dynasty Warriors spinoff game, I'd be shocked if it got anything above 70 on Metacritic.

That being said, i plan to go to Best Buy tomorrow and pre-order it

For me it is. Well, not "low" necessarily, but more like it doesn't exactly scream "preorder" or warrant a day-1 purchase. On a single website it's not bad but a 75 average indicates that many, probably too many, failing scores were given. That's a red flag. Just my experience though.

out of the 36 reviews on metacritic only one is a 40, four are in the 60s, then the other 31 are 70+. while I agree the game will be cheaper in a few months and the score doesn't necessarily scream preorder, it looks like a lot of fun for co-op with my buddy so I'm picking it up!

Heard the missions are quite repetitive and story isn't that enjoyable. Gameplay is good though they say. Just hope it doesn't get boring quickly

 
I had this as part of the $10 off with visa checkout so it'll end up about $31ish technically sort of for me. Still kinda wanting to cancel.

That explains the bad reviews then. The last time I played a DW game I was towards the end of a 40 minute mission and something stupid happened with the dumb AI teammates which caused the mission to fail. I tried it again and same crap. Worst waste of time I've ever spent in my life.

What's interesting is that there doesn't seem to be many by-the-books "bad" games anymore. Back then games were bad if they simply didn't work or had no point. Today it seems like any given game at least is a 6 by historical standards.

It's all relative, really. With an overabundance of 85s, 90s and 95s, 70s and 75s are pretty bad by comparison. I mean, Dynasty Warriors is miles less than The Last of Us, yet there's only a 20 point differential. That's because DW can at least do the competent things to keep it from failing;all games do nowadays unless you're on Steam Greenlight lol
 
As someone who mostly plays Japanese/Niche stuff, 65-70 has always meant about average for me

Anything over 80 was a universally good game. And anything over 90 was a must play masterpiece

That's fair. I guess it's more difficult to quantify a game's quality as games get more and more diverse. In my limited experience with Japanese games, I totally agree with you. An 8 on an Etrian Odyssey might as well be a 9 because that's about as good as it gets. I don't play many but when I see a Western site give a Japanese-centric game an 8.5, I make sure to look into it.

I don't know about the whole eating people thing on this anime/game.  Graphics look alright to me though from the gameplay videos that I watched.  Maybe I'll wait to give the anime a watch and buy this game later on.

So which dynasty game can you fly w spiderman like web-slings?

Its IMO the most imp part of the game, the movement mechanics... If you are a fan of games like spiderman or want to test other types of movement in a game this is also a good buy.

 
i'll wait for $20 price drop. lots of games dropping price pretty quickly these days. Black Friday is coming up also.

remember when Evil Within came out in October and best buy BF had it for like $20 bucks.

Does anyone here like Attack on Titan, or watched it, or even know what it is? For an anime-based Videogame, not sucking is already a huge feat. IGN gave it a decent score as well, and they usually go in on these type of games. I remember the last one for 3DS was horrible. I also heard the 3D maneuver gear part is great as well. It's 74 MC right now which is pretty neat. I get the feeling that many don't know what Attack on Titan even is and is just basing the score off as if it was some random new IP. From what I've seen, its a huge draw for fans of the series, even going pass season one of the anime for story.

i watched it and loved the show and waiting for another season. also got the 500 points preorder bonus yesterday. cant wait to play it tomorrow. #MikasaWaifu

that might have been true before the ps3 and 360. The whole naruto series, fist of the north star, saint seiya games, even one peice games, jstars, etc etc, this attack on titan game is very similar on gameplay to them. To me it seems anime games are going the route of fighting games or musuo game (w specific mechanics of each anime) or a mix since it seems they found good enough success w these genres.

I would suggest pre-ordering if you're an Attack on Titan fan. Midas's festival costume is a pre-order bonus, the cleaner costumes are the other two. Koei Tecmo are hit or miss when it comes to releasing their pre-order bonuses to the public

and since you mentioned it, I was trying to redeem the code but it shows up as 6 separate dlcs, with 3 for Mikasa and another 3 for the cleaning costume. really curious what's what on what platform.

EDIT: it seems like they are for PS4, PS3, and PSV. so two sets of dlcs for each platform. hot damn.

Nice! They have confirmed on their Facebook page that some of the costumes will NOT be released to the public.
