has any played pixel ripped 1989?
$14.99 ( $12.49 if u have + )
is it any good? an also theres an paperboy like game any 1 played it any thoughts?

I got it last time it was on sale. Though it only lasts a couple hours, it's FULL of pure joy. So if, in your mind, a couple of really great, fun-filled hours is worth that price, then get it.
Also, if you're the type to show off your VR to friends, as a lot of us are, I let a buddy try it and he couldn't stop until he'd finished either. Made it even more worth it to me.
There is limited replayability for some, as in the game within the game there are collectibles, and there's a tiny added game mode unlocked after you finish the main game. Neither of these led me back to playing again, but I still do not regret my purchase at all.
Hope this has helped!

honestly for beat sabre $13 for 10 songs is a great price. Its probably $13 because sony takes 30%, then they have to pay people who hold music rights, and whats left goes to dev, and what ever little promotion they do, its really not like they are making much per song. I think they are still cheaper than rock band songs back in their time.

I agree with only being  a fan of half of them, still fun to play around with though, Lets see where the next pack takes us :)

Wow, things change fast around here!   :-P

Yeah I realized about 30 seconds after I posted that, that it wasn't going to be true.

2-3 of the songs are flat out terrible to me though, and I don't think I'll be playing them again other than to get S grade and that's it.

Since I have everything I want from this list, I'll ask about a couple of lesser-known entries.

Anyone have any opinions on:

Apex Construct

Mind Labyrinth VR Dreams

Neverout

Pierhead Arcade

Salary Man Escape

Smashbox Arena

Smashbox is pretty good as a multiplayer shooter, though nobody's playing it. The smartest move they did is that bots fill up player slots, so you can always play it whenever you want.

That sounds good. Although now that I look it up, I realize it's been on sale for $2.49 a few times in the past, so I can probably wait.

I think I will most likely get Salary Man Escape. It seems like a weird little game in my wheelhouse.

As an aside, I saw this article about the possibility of wireless PSVR (probably not for awhile):

https://www.playstat...playstation-vr/

Sony has patented a new band determination device and frequency band determination method to allow the PlayStation system to figure out the location of the user’s movements. According to the patent, the PS4 could have a “program capable of switching a frequency band used for communication earlier than before according to a change in an environment in which a communication device or a communication partner is placed.” The language might be a little advanced, but the associated images make things pretty clear.

PlayStation-VR-Wireless-650x832.png
Also of note:

In September 2018, Sony filed a patent for a VR headset with built in sensors and thermometers that can check for a user’s motion sickness and well being. If the headset thinks that one is unwell, it would alert the user.

I get the feeling it would tell me I'm "unwell" right off the bat.

Wow that would be fantastic of that patent is for PSVR2 for PS5 and it's wireless out the gate.

I've been using an SMG in Borderlands 2 VR. It made me realize holding the alt fire button doesn't just do things like switch some guns to burst fire. It also acts as aiming down sights. Your gun becomes more accurate, and you move slower.

This changes what I thought about the pistols early in the game. Since they didn't have an alt fire feature I didn't bother holding the alt fire button while shooting. That's what lead to them having heavy recoil. I decided to track down an early pistol, and holding the alt fire button did make it more accurate. Though it does help that I used my skill points to max out my bullet speed stat.

If you have an Aim controller this is definitely a game worth adding to your collection. In the Great Indoors sale it's $37 with PS+, but codes can be found for... $30? Damn, the ebay seller I bought it from just a week ago raised the price by $5.00. The Aim support update probably lead to the codes becoming a more sought after item.

One thing about the Aim controller in Borderlands 2 is a lot of the guns don't have ironsights. At least not the kind that are on the Farpoint or Arizona Sunshine guns. Those games have large ironsights that make actually aiming down the sights work well. In Borderlands 2 the ironsights are normal sized. The gun models are probably the same as the original Borderlands 2. With some of the guns you can physically aim down the sights, but using the crosshair outside the ironsights works best. So the immersion of aiming down sights that Farpoint and Arizona Sunshine have isn't really in Borderlands 2.

Still, aiming with the crosshair works great. I think the reason I started to favor an SMG is the way I was holding the Aim controller was very similar to the way Leon Kennedy holds and shoots the TMP in Resident Evil 4. While I lost immersion one way, I got it back in another cool way.

Another cool thing is when I got a rocket launcher I thought it's kind of weird having this large gun model right in front of me. Without really thinking about it I moved my hands to position the Aim controller as if I had a rocket launcher set over my shoulder. It looked right, it felt right, and aiming with the crosshair worked just as well. Looking up and blasting aircrafts out of the sky in this manner was pretty awesome.

I picked up the DLC as well. The question is, will I ever reinstall the game again to play it?

These are the ones I'd recommend from the sale (YMMV):

The American Dream - $13.99 - 30% Off - $9.99 - 50% Off - Ends 3/26

Astro Bot Rescue Mission - $33.99 - 15% Off - $29.99 - 25% Off - Ends 3/26
Batman: Arkham VR - $13.99 - 30% Off - $11.99 - 40% Off - Ends 3/26
Bound - $11.99 - 40% Off - $9.99 - 50% Off - Ends 3/26
Cold Iron - $6.99 - 50% Off - $4.19 - 70% Off - Ends 3/26

Doom VFR - $17.99 - 40% Off - $14.99 - 50% Off - Ends 3/26
Deracine - $26.99 - 10% Off - $23.99 - 20% Off - Ends 3/26

Farpoint - $11.99 - 40% Off - $9.99 - 50% Off - Ends 3/26

Kona VR Bundle - $9.99 - 50% Off - $7.99 - 60% Off - Ends 3/26
Loading Human: Chapter 1 - $11.99 - 70% Off - $7.99 - 80% Off - Ends 3/26
Moss - $23.99 - 20% Off - $22.49 - 25% Off - Ends 3/26

Psychonauts In The Rhombus Of Ruin - $5.99 - 70% Off - $3.99 - 80% Off - Ends 3/26
Statik - $9.99 - 50% Off - $5.99 - 70% Off - Ends 3/26
Stifled - $13.99 - 30% Off - $11.99 - 40% Off - Ends 3/26
Surgeon Simulator: Experience Reality - $5.99 - 70% Off - $3.99 - 80% Off - Ends 3/26
Tumble VR - $3.49 - 65% Off - $2.49 - 75% Off - Ends 3/26
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood - $5.99 - 60% Off - $3.99 - 70% Off - Ends 3/26
Wipeout Omega Collection - $11.99 - 40% Off - $9.99 - 50% Off - Ends 3/26

I paid way more for every single one of those games. :-(  If you're feeling overwhelmed, I'd say use your $20 on Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, Statik, and possibly Batman: Arkham VR or Farpoint (only if you have the Aim controller; also compatible with Arizona Sunshine).

Creed has been on sale for $14.99 a couple times in the past. However, one time it had a price error of $8.99, so now most of us won't bite till it hits that low again (it worked for Castlevania).

A few VR reviews from the last sale (none currently on sale).

Affected: The Manor

I'm feeling kinda neutral about this one. It's a mostly barebones "horror experience" where you explore a haunted mansion using your Move as a flashlight while shit jumps out at you. It reminded me a bit of the mansion in Layers of Fear, with some of the scares of Paranormal Activity. There are two paths to take, so you will at least get a double playthrough out of it. In order to get 100%, you have to spend 2 hours inside of the manor (not cumulative), but there's hardly enough material to fill up half an hour. If you're able to nab it for a couple bucks, go for it; otherwise, you're not missing much.

Home Sweet Home

Compared to Affected: The Manor, this game was pretty terrifying. It's similar to Outlast where it's mostly linear with an element of stealth/survival horror where you'll end up hiding in lockers and stalls a lot. The puzzles aren't overly difficult and I only got stuck in one section (the stupid safe combination), but for the most part it's fun and enjoyable (about $15 value). My 100% playthrough lasted approximately 5 hours; however, it ends with a TO BE CONTINUED. That's right, it turns out this was only Episode 1, so you aren't given much resolution.

Paper Dolls

I've complained about this kind of thing before, but Paper Dolls has the worst godawful Move controls of ANY game I've ever played. Period. As soon as I tried the atrocious alternating trigger scheme to walk, I immediately switched to the simpler DS4 controls (which were apparently added later due to popular demand). As far as the game goes, you wander around solving puzzles and collecting keys to unlock doors while avoiding very annoying ghost-like presences that kill you instantly (reminded me of the more frustrating parts of White Day). Beyond its bad controls, the game's honestly not that bad, but I wouldn't pay more than 10 bucks for it. I finished it in about 6 hours, and wouldn't you know it? Turns out this was just "part 1" too. It's probably too stressful to play again for the platinum.

I got the plat for No Man's Sky back when it first came out, but VR is going to be the thing that brings me back. Haven't tried any of the new content yet so I am actually pretty excited. Should be a great VR game.

I've installed NMS at least 3 times, playing it a bit more each time. I could see VR keeping me in much longer though considering the video looked like the style has been preserved really well.

Otherwise it's pretty clear that PSVR will have pretty solid support all year. Golem is listed as a spring release and will likely be a pretty big game as well.

That State of Play showcase was awesome yesterday!  Only 20 minutes long, to the point, no awkward banter or interviews!  Just trailers and release dates, and I am interested in almost every game they spotlighted in it.

I don't care that they stole the format/style directly from Nintendo!  I'd get excited for and watch every one of these in the future!

I'm still waiting on Star Child to get released...

Need more Moss and Astrobot type gems.

I'm kind of hopeful for Trover Saves the Universe. It's got the third-person Astrobot style mixed with the humor of Rick & Morty/Accounting+.

Also, don't forget Ghost Giant. That game gives me tons of Moss vibes.

And holy shit am I pumped for Blood & Truth (finally). London Heist was one of my favorite early experiences on PSVR, can't wait to see that stretched out as a feature. And of course Iron Man, Golem, Concrete Genie, Luna, Five Nights at Freddy's (!) and Vacation Simulator all seem like lots of fun. I'm still waiting for that Groundhog Day game to drop too. Not sure how I'm going to afford any of this.

Hadn't seen Ghost Giant.  It does look very good, and I really dig Zoink games.

Trover has the potential to be hilarious.

For those of you like me who like to buy the physical copies of everything....a listing has popped up on Gamestop for a Killing Floor Double feature which includes the previously released Killing Floor 2 and the VR Killing Floor Incursion. I am assuming this will be a Gamestop exclusive release considering the previous Killing Floor game was a retailer exclusive release.

Borderlands 2 VR will be getting a free update that adds all of the game's dlc. The update is coming this summer.

I'm about a dozen hours into the game. I wonder if I should put the game on hold until the update? I don't know if the dlc should be played after completing the main game missions, or if they're incorporated into the main game well.

This is a pretty awesome week for PSVR news. I already picked up a copy of No Man's Sky at Gamestop.
