Affected: The Manor
I'm feeling kinda neutral about this one. It's a mostly barebones "horror experience" where you explore a haunted mansion using your Move as a flashlight while shit jumps out at you. It reminded me a bit of the mansion in Layers of Fear, with some of the scares of Paranormal Activity. There are two paths to take, so you will at least get a double playthrough out of it. In order to get 100%, you have to spend 2 hours inside of the manor (not cumulative), but there's hardly enough material to fill up half an hour. If you're able to nab it for a couple bucks, go for it; otherwise, you're not missing much.
Home Sweet Home
Compared to Affected: The Manor, this game was pretty terrifying. It's similar to Outlast where it's mostly linear with an element of stealth/survival horror where you'll end up hiding in lockers and stalls a lot. The puzzles aren't overly difficult and I only got stuck in one section (the stupid safe combination), but for the most part it's fun and enjoyable (about $15 value). My 100% playthrough lasted approximately 5 hours; however, it ends with a TO BE CONTINUED. That's right, it turns out this was only Episode 1, so you aren't given much resolution.
I've complained about this kind of thing before, but Paper Dolls has the worst godawful Move controls of ANY game I've ever played. Period. As soon as I tried the atrocious alternating trigger scheme to walk, I immediately switched to the simpler DS4 controls (which were apparently added later due to popular demand). As far as the game goes, you wander around solving puzzles and collecting keys to unlock doors while avoiding very annoying ghost-like presences that kill you instantly (reminded me of the more frustrating parts of White Day). Beyond its bad controls, the game's honestly not that bad, but I wouldn't pay more than 10 bucks for it. I finished it in about 6 hours, and wouldn't you know it? Turns out this was just "part 1" too. It's probably too stressful to play again for the platinum.
