I got one of those as well, and just dumped it to my trash. I never read it, glad I saw your post. I might make use of it, but probably not, since I really am tired of MS screwing me with their low-quality controllers (4 of my 5 have had hardware faults, including my Elite).

Time to break out the begging. If anyone has a controller coupon and/or XB live coupon that they're not gonna use, please PM me. I may as well add a controller to my bro's new XB1S and top off his XB live sub while I'm at it.

I'd personally love to pick up the red gears of war 4 controller. If anyone isnt using there codes.

Thanks :)

My Gold runs out in 2 weeks. Getting that email would have been nice. If anyone isn't going to use their code, I would appreciate getting it.

I have no idea why anyone would buy 3 months for $15 (it's regularly $25) unless they were desperate. It comes out to $60/year which is MSRP.

Yeah, not really sure what hardcore gaming GCU menber BB thinks is the market for a 3 month subscription (at practically MSRP, as you point).

BB hasn't really tried since lowering their GCU membership price. It's really sad. They had something great and boiled it down into nothing. Used to be a great place for hardcore gamers spending hundreds and thousands of dollars a year in gaming. With Amazon doing the same 20%, less games at BB getting the $10 credit treatment (and remember those $15 and $20 credits?), and offering much less in terms of weekly ad deals, GCU amounts to nothing. It saves me maybe $30-$50 a year thanks to bonus credits (I don't count 20% off anymore because I already get that through Prime which I keep anyway) but since it's $30 to join wtf am I really getting that others don't offer?

Oh and the last 3 games I preordered from BB didn't ship to my house until 3-7 days after release date. Amazon doesn't miss a day.

Aw, I didn't get an email. I'd love a controller coupon code, though.

I collect controllers, and there are three new ones I haven't ordered yet (GoW, blue, and dawn shadow / pink). I always end up playing a game of chcken: wait for a price drop and hope they don't go OOS first.

Until the janitor shows up with a mop, I'll just leave this here.

So much wrong in this post.

3-7 days after release date? That's laughable. I get them the day of or in recent case the day before.

Considering you have to pay $99 a year for Amazon Prime or only $30 for two years of GCU and the 20% isn't only for pre-orders and games released within the two week time period. I'd take GCU over Amazon Prime any day for gaming purchases.

I collect controllers too. You are forgetting the Military Green and Strom Grey from the Battlefield 1 bundle. Plus, the GOW4 Elite controller is coming too.

Where's the custom xbox controllers from their design lab? The possibilities are endless.

Nice collection though.

Those are all bundle-only, though, right? I could get them on Ebay, but this BB coupon won't help.

You're right, but only when it comes to games. I don't think GCU is empirically worse, but it is definitely worse than it used to be. I made it a point to say that for people who enjoy Prime ALREADY, GCU isn't really worth getting (and stated my case that so many people already enjoy Prime as opposed to GCU, so GCU needs to offer more)

Which forum rule did I break?

It's also why I added in "for gaming purchase" at the end. If we are basing membership on solely gaming purchase (this is cheap ass gamers) then BBY GCU is the better membership. This is not a personal preference thing, it's a benefits comparison. This is not even including the $10 pre-order cert bonuses or the ability to pricematch within 15/30/35 days depending on your status.

I only responded because you said "GCU amounts to nothing" with Amazon offering 20% off new/pre-ordered games. I'm just calling BS on that.

If you personally find Amazon Prime better, good for you. It still doesn't nullify GCU benefits.

No offense but I'd rather have the 20% discount then having to use shitty coupons on games I wasn't interested in and maybe once in awhile getting a free game out of it. (in regards to GCU in the past.) Sure the $20 cert promotions were nice but I think I've gotten more out of the newer change then anything. Sucks about the black friday thing though.
