The fact that SAG's National Executive Committee has now decided to reject the new contract, especially when most of SAG's actors had actually voted in favor of it, is a bit surprising.
One SAG board member who wished to remain anonymous said that the rejection of the deal represents a slap in the face to the actors who work in the video game industry. "We are now perceived in our own industry as an organization that does not bargain in good faith," the board member told the LA Times.
The video game market has grown to be enormously profitable, and our members have played a tremendous role in generating those profits," said SAG National Executive Director/CEO Greg Hessinger.
