I got one early this morning. I texted my boss and told her I would be late as I had something important to do. This was while I was standing in line waiting for Wal Mart to open at 7. I was the 14th person in the line and they had 22 available.

Pfft, I want a $12.99 controller. The only person selling one on Amazon is asking $602 :whistle2:k
The controller is much more harder to obtain as Nintendo made very few of them. The store where I bought my NES only got two controllers and it was bought by the first person in line.

I wouldn't worry. The controller and console will eventually come back in stock. In the meantime if you have the console, then old Wii gamepads are supposed to work fine with it.

I lucked out and got the console online from The Source, I should have it by Tuesday. Ridiculous what some idiots are asking on Kijiji for it.

Seriously. Our local Wal-Mart received 12 systems but only 1 controller. Needless to say the guy ho had ticket #1 got that as well. i was lucky enough to get ticket #7 though, so still happy.

I get the feeling (like amiibo) that the scarcity of these things will abate sooner or later.

I'm sure these won't be hard to find after Christmas. But right now, because it's before Christmas and these make great gifts, I'd be willing to buy 2-4 of these. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Seeing that these are still being distributed in the US, what are the chances of finding one up here?  Not just on Amazon, but anywhere, really.

I'm not particularly interested in the console itself, but I'd definitely like a controller (or two).  There are a lot of third-party alternatives, but based on what I've read, they're all basically junk.

I've heard a vague rumor that Bestbuy might have gotten some with their Switch shipment, which bdavid81 suggested they'd have tomorrow. So maybe wander into Bestbuy tomorrow and ask?
