I understand why we have a free section. I get that contests, sweepstakes, or things that will be free forever shouldn't be clogging up the Deals forum. But I also feel that certain things should be in the Deals section because what is a better deal than free?
I figure things like stuff that is temporarily free due to whatever promotion/glitch and is free to anyone as long as they sign up for whatever account required should be allowed in the section.
I say this because not only is the Free section not really checked out by most, it's also usually clogged up by contests, sweepstakes, promotions (follow me on twitter and get entered into a drawing), referrals, etc. So even the universally free stuff posted there gets lost.
Obviously, mods would have the final word on what does or doesn't qualify for the deals forum, but I'm just proposing there be a little more flexibility on what is allowed in the Deals forum.
Something like:
1. As long as it is temporarily free and not free forever. (To avoid people posting demos or every free game on PSN, XBL, Steam, etc.)
2. As long as the only requirement to get it free is to have an account with whatever store/service is offering it for free. (To avoid stuff like Gleam giveaways, contests, referrals, etc.).
