Anyway, I've been saving up Microsoft Reward points over several weeks, getting about 300 or so per day, planning on getting 12 months of Xbox Live for 29,000 points. I was at nearly 15,000 minutes ago and stumbled across this post on Reddit when searching for login issues on my Xbox One.

I went through 15 separate transactions and now have $145 (14 $10 off and 1 $5 off) in credit to use on the Xbox or Microsoft stores. I don't believe this can be used towards Xbox Live, but this seems like a better deal overall, at least for those who do not mind digital vs. physical copies.

This is apparently a limited-time promotion and I suspect that it will not last long.

The emails may take some time to come through, but it took only a couple minutes per email for me with them going to my Outlook.com email address.
