Is Tetris launch? Getting that too but thought it was April

One thing not touched on is how my Nintendo will work with the switch

At least on mobile, achievements have been able to earn free IAP type stuff which is awesome and makes them worthwhile. Also able to earn some platinum points which can be used on discounts on the eshop. I really hope they expand on this.

If I'm going to buy all these Switch games and not play them I might as well just buy the games and worry about the $5000 system later.

I'm getting:

-Super Bomberman R

-The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+

-Puyo Puyo Tetris

I think they've had some pretty cool choices for launch games so far.  It's nice to see some more Japanese games make an appearance. With GCU and Prime the $40 and $50 initial price points are welcome too.   You don't feel bad about picking up something for $32 on launch week just because you felt like it.   I'm hoping for more English-friendly Asia releases like on the Vita!

On topic:

Have the developers of Bomberman announced anything about improving performance? The multiplayer I played at PAX South was pretty lack luster. It wasn't nearly as smooth as the trailers showed.

I think it's interesting that the Switch is poised to completely take the Vita's position for smaller Japanese games.

Also, I imported Puyo Puyo Tetris years ago and it fucking rules, so I'm thrilled that it's getting a stateside release.

You should be able to hide your post, but I'm not sure if that's possible on mobile.

EDIT: Beaten to the punch by Ferrari.

I'm actually really curious to see how My Nintendo and their new paid online system will work with one another. We've been told there will be "exclusive discounts", but that's My Nintendo's schtick. Will they link together somehow, or just offer randomly chosen different discounts? What will be the arbitrary division between a game that My Nintendo discounts vs the paid online system? GIVE ME ANSWERS, NINTENDO.

I think this is on topic. I discussed it in a previous thread. For curiosities sake the switch I put up on eBay got 395 plus shipping. Not too stoked on that. Tax is 20 bucks, shippings 20, eBay fees will be 40. Not really any profit there. Maybe I suck at this. WHO KNOWS (I do).

In the other thread someone mentioned they'd want to see a gold cart for Zelda. Were any of the DS/3DS Zelda games on a gold cart? I own most of them, and non of them are. Unless one of the one's I don't have is.

I don't think so sadly. I loved the different color cartridges for N64 and NES.

I have yet to buy anything digital from Nintendo since my original Wii died. All my Virtual Console games probably could have been transferred to my replacement if I called Nintendo but the Wii U was already announced at that point and it's not like they would have transferred to that. I still have a bunch of Wii credit stashed somewhere that was bought tax-free but I don't think it was even usable on the Wii U.

Nintendo better have gotten their act together with accounts on the Switch because it's looking like a whole lot of games aren't even going to be available on cartridge.

I canceled my pre-order from Best Buy but I'm still oddly tempted to try and pre-order again. It's a sick compulsion. I know if I can just wait until launch I'll be fine and I can be patient and wait until there's better value, but I just can't shake the desire to pre-order in spite of the fact that it's grossly expensive for what you get and the line-up is abysmal.

Does anyone have first-hand experience or feedback on the Pro controller? I placed a pre-order at Amazon but am still on the fence if I want to keep my order or not. $70 for a controller is insane and if it's not really needed with Zelda or Mario Kart I'm happy to wait for a sale.

Well, sadly you missed out bc through a convoluted system you could transfer your entire wii vc to your wiiu includig your wii digital store balance.

You could access it all through the wii channel, it was in effect a wii in your wiiu bc it had the old hardware

Oddly enough they have a NNID and a Nintendo acocunt now and I believe they will merge these. This is how they will move away from accounts tied to hardware. Since the NnID can be used on 3ds and wiiu

You can use your points on the Wii U, in the Wii shop channel.
Assuming you still have them on cards. Idk if those cards expire...don't know much about the Wii.

I hope people stay on topic this time instead of arguing about private servers on the PS2.

Is it needed? No. I used the joycons for the Zelda and Mario Kart demo and it felt just fine.

If you are adamant about a standard controller design or have huge hands, I would recommend the pro controller though. It felt great in my hands and the triggers are more satisfying than the ones on the joycons.

My local GameStop still isn't sure if they'll be doing a midnight launch, but I assume they will since they sold their allotment of 40 systems. Although, I'm thinking about not going even if they have one since I have work on Friday and I really don't want to take off.

I'm fine with picking it up after work.

I have one pre-ordered, but there's a lack of launch games that appeal to me.  I'll probably end up cancelling it or returning it.

I'll likely get one in the fall or after Christmas after Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey release.  The only launch title I want to play of BoW, so I'll just play the Wii U version for now.

This is exactly how i am right now!

I'll grab a game I want here and there and just wait till black Friday to see if I can get a bundle with a controller since I refuse to pay 70 for one.

I broke that habit of needing to get stuff right when it comes out and not get caught up in other people's excitement of "its new and everyone wants it so I want it"

It will be the same old nintendo system aside from the gimmicks. I'll only play the first party switch exclusive games and that's it and it won't be like hard to get them at all and they will stay at a high msrp. So I'm no rush to play yet another Mario game. I will, just later on.

System, Zelda, pro controller, and Puyo Tetris on order. The future is definitely brighter than the Wii u, and I liked a good number of those games. Bring on the 3rd.

I knew it could be done but it seemed like a huge pain just to get a few games back that I probably only would have played a few more times. There really is no excuse for them not letting you be able to just go back into the shop and hit download again on previous purchases.

You can use your points on the Wii U, in the Wii shop channel.

Not being able to spend them in the Wii U shop is why I never redeemed them.

Yes, I do.
Haha, nope.

"This thing costs a fortune and there are NO GOOD GAMES!"

Now THAT is hyperbole. But saying that it's significantly over-priced and that the launch line-up stinks is pretty damn reasonable. Now, if it was $250, came bundled with 1-2 Switch, had more than 32GB of storage, and Mario Odyssey was also in the launch window, well, that would be a different story. A much better story, in fact.

Was on the fence about bomberman, seemed like the kind of game you'd pay 10-15 dollars for on xbla or psn, not a 50 dollar release. After hearing multiple account the game actually ran poorly, i decided against it. Thanks Nick51705 for the feedback about the game, I decided I'm only getting zelda and isaac at launch.

I'd certainly jump on-board at launch if that were the case.
