Toys"R"Us TRU YMMV In Store Clearance Thread I

My store in Pittsburgh is up to 80% off now. I got a lot of gaming and marvel related toys for 70%off. Videogames were also 70% off, but all they had left were old 360 and ps3 games.

All in all there was still sone good stuff left. The store had a ton of models left. I might check back on Saturday to see whats left at 80%+ off.

it's worth keeping in mind that a lot of 360 games are getting XB1 compatibility enhancements, worth looking if you can get some of the games you want on that system cheapo

Toys R Us was never cheap, but I remember KB Toys always being quite a bit more expensive than TRU. At least around where I live anyway, the KB Toys was in a mall too, but they did occasionally have some good deals on games and I always enjoyed stopping in KB when I was in the mall.

I think the difference was KB was a place to buy extra things while you were at the mall. I don't recall KB being a destination like Toys R Us or Children's Palace.

KB had the legendary 3 for $5 (later 3 for $10) action figure dump bin when I was a kid.

Looks like games are up to 15% around Orlando, FL. Specifically the one by Millenia for those in the area.

Today is the last day for my local store. I got there at 10am and the store was almost entirely empty. Only the very front of the store was open, the rest was taped off. Everything left was 80 % off.

Games are at 15% in San Antonio but still kind of no point since they're all marked as full msrp

I might be stopping by the Huntington Beach store tomorrow.  I think a phone call would be just as helpful though.  If it's still up to 30% off and the video games are at 5% off, they can tell me that info on the phone.

My store closes in June.  Still 10% off everything....5% off Switch consoles.

If I was working on a sinking ship that I've been preemptively fired it, I would just let that phone ring all damn day lol

ToysRUs posted today on their Facebook that stores are now up to 30% off. We will see if that is true.

That "up to" 30% off big sign was on 2 Toysrus around for at least 2 weeks. It has been mostly, if not all, 10% and 5% inside. I guess after the gift card redemption period, they will become more serious.

I called a store in San Diego asking how much off their video games were to avoid having to drive down there. The lady that answered said she didn’t know and that I would need to come in to find out.

Carle Place TRU, as of Friday had 5% off Legos, 10% off the majority of the store, and 15% off video games. I didn't see anything good though. And as someone mentioned before, I think Skyland ears are $.89. Didn't find Crossfire

I stopped by on Thursday and they had games up to 15% off but I did notice several items they didn't have the week before and I was able to get a World of Nintendo Metroid for $13.49 which I had been after for awhile so I was pretty happy about that purchase. I plan on checking back next week to see if they have further discounted the games and to see what else they have gotten in from the warehouse.

Anyone tried gift cards today or yesterday? April 14th was the 30 day mark when the gift card announcement was made. Even though signs say the 21st a rep told me the 14th was the last day. Could have been bad info though.

Depends on your store but mine was one that wasn't closing until they all were so they have only been in the liquidation process for about a month now and accessories were either 5% or 10% off when I stopped in last week. They didn't have many accessories left though and most all of the controllers were gone already. If you are looking for an Elite Controller though I would recommend buying one as soon as you can. That type of stuff won't last long. Seems like consoles and accessories are some of the first things to go even at a 5% discount, consoles and first-party accessories just don't go on sale that often so any discount is welcome.

Went to the Murrietta. CA store and most stuff was only 10% off.

Probably won't bother checking back in.

The store I stopped in today had most stuff at 10%, Legos at 5%, and video games at 15%. This is near Buffalo, NY

If anyone was going to make a special trip to Columbia, MO to check out that TRU, don't bother.  It closed up shop for good Sunday.  I'm pretty sure I saw a homeless man holding a sign that said 80% off near the store the other day, so it was pretty close to shuttering anyway.

Some of our stores literally just started liquidating about a month ago. You realize if people keep coming in a purchasing as much as they do while the sale is only 10-30% that the liquidation company isn't going to want to raise the discount percent. Basic economics guys.

Also, don't be a dick to us. Don't tell us how much it sucks that we are losing our jobs, don't ask us if we know when our store is closing because we probably don't even know and please don't be rude to us because you should know full well that when a store is closing that we won't do returns, exchanges, refunds and etc. Should all be common sense.

Please, just be respectful. Some people are losing their jobs after 15 plus years with TRU. You probably wouldn't like it if you were losing your job and someone came in and asked you stupid questions like "What are you gonna do?" Look for a job, duh.
