Looks like Dell.com is offering a $25 Dell eGiftcard with the purchase of Nier Automata:  http://www.dell.com/...19&sku=A8839221

Also, sign up for a free Dell Advantage membership to upgrade the free shipping from standard to expedited.

How long do these gift card offerings typically last? Through the end of the pre-order period?

With Dell, no one knows for sure, not even Dell.

If it wasn't for them bringing out a PC version which still has an unknown release date, I would get this.

The unknown release day, coupled with quality of port concerns, makes me think you should grab it on PS4.

It's hard to get excited over anything Platinum when they make 5 turds for every good game they release.

Looks like $25 on Prey pre-order too. Finally something to use my remaining $60 in GCs.

Was worried these were all but done. Dell pulls me back in!

$25 on Nioh, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Halo Wars 2 too!

Damn Horizon Zero Dawn is nice. I just hate being tied down to a place I rarely shop out for a $12 "savings". Best Buy comes to about $50 after tax where as Dell would be about $38 taking GC and approx tax into account. I rather just wait for a $40-50 sale on the games and get them for $32-40 OOP and not be tied down.

But it's a great way to chain purchases if you want them ASAP and don't mind getting Dell GC.

Repetition in a game is NOT a bad thing, almost all games are repetitive. What matters is if YOU enjoy the game, then the repetition becomes enjoyable and doesn't feel monotonous or boring.

Just heard the PC release is just 3 days after PS4. I'm not too worried about Platinum Games port to PC. They have been good thus far.

Okay, new question: is Dell customer support amenable to applying gift cards to pre-orders that you've already made?

They will need to cancel and reorder.

Ah, well, guess I'm stuck in wait-and-see mode, then. Thanks.

Does it really take 10-20 days to get the gift card? Otherwise I could go for Nioh, Horizon, and Nier...

It can take even longer and could involve you contacting their customer service and waiting for a request to the gift card team to process. I highly suggest taking screenshots.

Yes, and it will take every single bit of the 20 days.  Plus you are right that about 75% of the time it requires Customer Service.  Use email, calling in sucks and email is more effective.  I hopped off the GC train at Dell after getting fed up with it all (and their shitty packaging with unpadded envelopes).

Wow, exactly the same experience here. The latest type of packaging sealed the deal for me to not buy games from them anymore. I've received several damaged box new games due to their use of plastic bags for shipping.

Well thanks for the advice guys. Looks like it's better that I don't bother with this at all.
