I'm looking for a good Retro-like controller to play games on various devices, such as the Retron 5, and PC (Sega Classics) and etc etc.

Either USB or BLUETOOTH....

I am really liking the look, and things I hear of the 8BITDO series and I am wondering how they hold up.

The ones I am currently most interested in are (in order)
8BitDo NES/FC30 PRO

The 8Bit SNES/FC30

and the iBuffalo USB SNES/FC controller

I've heard great things about all three, save for the last one feeling a little light and hollow...

So, any suggestions are welcome, and if you can suggest a Genesis/Saturn like USB controller that would also be welcome.

I've personally decided to not use OEM Controller to USB interfaces since they are known to induce input lag.

You've hit on most of the best options. For Bluetooth support, the 8bitdo line is basically the way to go. Their NES controller is a bit of a compromise, as it does not conform to the exact layout of the original pad. At the same time, it can be used for playing both SNES and NES games, thanks to the additional buttons. The 8bitdo SNES option is one of the most authentic. It feels exactly like an original SNES controller, from the build quality down to the button and d-pad action. It is my recommendation if you want a simulated retro feel. Also, I personally think that the original SNES controller is more comfortable than the NES for long-term gameplay.

I carry an 8Bitdo NES30 Pro around in my bag. It is a good compromise if you want to be able to play some slightly more modern games. Sadly, its analog sticks don't quite measure up to most modern controllers. They work fine, and are responsive. But they're also smaller and don't feel as good as what you would get from an Xbox 360 controller. On the plus side, the D-pad on it is great, just a really comfortable feel. And all of the rest of the buttons also feel quite good. For playing retro and 2D-focused titles, I recommend it highly.

Yep, I am using it for 2D not 3D games... 3D games and ETC, I'll just use my XB1/PS4 controller

I was looking for something for the Retron 5 or use with PC games, 2D only.

Went with the NES/FC30PRO.. but I'm worried it might be a bit small.. I doubt it though. I've just heard amazing things about 8bitdo's build quality and components that they won me over.. and I liked the extra buttons and Wii/Wii U support
