I honestly don't know if CDKeys has caved to pressure from SJW snowflakes or what, but no Easter sale so far. I'll give them until the weekend. I saw PSN has a Good Friday theme. Thank God Sony isn't afraid of all the PC snowflakes and allows us to celebrate the true savior as he should be celebrated.

Damn right! I'll be celebrating Jesus with chocolate bunnies and materialistic spending sprees! 'murica!

LoL

He is said to be the sacrificial lamb of Christianity (my religion), yet for some reason Easter became associated with rabbits.

I guess Lambs weren't marketable enough for our rampant, insatiable commercialism.

Back on topic, I have used CDKeys many times in the past and have always had a great experience.  In the here & now, there are a few games that caught my eye - so I hope a sale happens shortly to make my purchasing decisions a little easier.  (Oh, the irony of me acting high & mighty - and chastising our over-indulgence in spending during Christian holidays...and then totally being annoyed that said holidays have fewer stores that take part in sales anymore.)

Question: Why would you assume that a sale starts on a Tuesday or Wednesday?  Everywhere else, weekend sales start on Thursdays...

It's that time again, children! Time for learning the historical origins of religious symbolism! Yaaaaaaay!

The Easter Bunny (also called the Easter Rabbit or Easter Hare) is a folkloric figure and symbol of Easter, depicted as a rabbit bringing Easter eggs. Originating among German Lutherans, the "Easter Hare" originally played the role of a judge, evaluating whether children were good or disobedient in behavior at the start of the season of Eastertide. The Easter Bunny is sometimes depicted with clothes.

[...]

The hare was a popular motif in medieval church art. In ancient times, it was widely believed (as by Pliny, Plutarch, Philostratus, and Aelian) that the hare was a hermaphrodite. The idea that a hare could reproduce without loss of virginity led to an association with the Virgin Mary, with hares sometimes occurring in illuminated manuscripts and Northern European paintings of the Virgin and Christ Child. [...] Eggs, like rabbits and hares, are fertility symbols of antiquity. Since birds lay eggs and rabbits and hares give birth to large litters in the early spring, these became symbols of the rising fertility of the earth [...]

Rabbits and hares are both prolific breeders. Female hares can conceive a second litter of offspring while still pregnant with the first. This phenomenon is known as superfetation. Lagomorphs mature sexually at an early age and can give birth to several litters a year (hence the saying, "to breed like rabbits" or "to breed like bunnies"). It is therefore not surprising that rabbits and hares should become fertility symbols, or that their springtime mating antics should enter into Easter folklore.

In addition, Orthodox churches have a custom of abstaining from eggs during the fast of Lent. The only way to keep them from being wasted was to boil or roast them, and begin eating them to break the fast. As a special dish, they would probably have been decorated as part of the celebrations. Later, German Protestants retained the custom of eating colored eggs for Easter, though they did not continue the tradition of fasting. [...] Many Christians of the Eastern Orthodox Church to this day typically dye their Easter eggs red, the color of blood [...]

The idea of an egg-giving hare went to the U.S. in the 18th century. Protestant German immigrants in the Pennsylvania Dutch area told their children about the "Osterhase" (sometimes spelled "Oschter Haws"). Hase means "hare", not rabbit.

Thank you for your humorous post.

I actually went looking for Far Cry 5 on PC last night and saw some guy selling it on eBay for really cheap...provided I use his "Steam" (wait, what?) account, etc, etc.

I was excited to see the offer...then I laughed when I read the listing's details...and then shed a tear because it looks like that game can't be found for anything less than $52 anywhere right now - and my CAG brain just can't pay that price.

If you want FC5 on Steam you have to pony up the big bucks.  GMG might still have a 20% off deal on it, not sure, but it's Uplay only.

Well looks like there is an Easter sale going on but doesn't seem like there is anything amazing.

The code only works on a handful of games. Go to cdkeys home page and click the Easter sale banner to see what games the code works with.
Prey for $31 is tempting

I add Neir Automatia and the code doesn't work.
