So sign up for college deals on Best Buy's website (regular email is all that you need):
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/clp/college-student-deals/pcmcat276200050000.c?id=pcmcat276200050000

You'll receive an email shortly with a coupon for $100 off select Apple products IF PURCHASED WITH APPLECARE.

Add product + Apple care, the price will drop $100, but Apple Care is $100 so it looks like no savings.

Request a refund for AppleCare and Apple will send you a check or electronic funds transfer for the cost of AppleCare.

I did this and was refunded $99.99 + Tax for (approximately $106.00 refunded back in total) in tandem with cancelling Apple Care (which just needs to be done within 30 days of purchase, just don't use any features of Apple Care within that period if you intend on cancelling).

Received refund from Apple within 7 days and all I had to do is call their Apple Care customer care team and they emailed me a link and simply requested I respond to the email with a screenshot of my Best Buy receipt (showing I was charged $99.99 for Apple Care).

In the end this made my iPad (9.7, 32 GB) approximately $245.00 (tax included).

Mad Props to OP on this one (would be even sweeter if anyone had $25.00 off $200.00 promo with Best Buy).

I'm glad it worked out for you too! A lot of people were confused how the refund worked or if it worked. I also found it to be an easy process and even the rep from Apple was saying to me "if you're not going to use the AppleCare+ there's no reason to pay for it!" It was seemless and simple. Thanks for the props!
