Yeah... no. I've stooped to the level of donating plasma, but I will never let one of these amateurs that work at these places near me again after an idiot missed my vein. And this was after having to prick both my fingers for a blood sample. So yeah, unless you are a masochist or some crap, avoid these places.

Donating plasma paid well. The problem is the places are usually ghetto as hell and I don't really fit in. I made an easy $100 a week though in college.

Man I never thought of donating bodily fluids for $$$ during college. I would just participate in the weird psychology studies. One of them was playing Starcraft for a week.

Damn. I did a double red donation in late April, so I'm not eligible for another month. Plus getting on that mailing list. And all I got was a t shirt, some juice and a high five.

Ok, that was still totally worth it. But damn, this would be nice.

Nope, girls only want guys with massive, unopened Vita collections.

Make sure to give them your Powerup Rewards card to get extra 30% trade-in credit for trading in O-positive.

PrO+ members get bonus 10% on top of that.

American Red Cross sells your blood to hospitals for about $210 a pint. Cut out the middle man.

Do they care if my blood is completely saturated in thc?

Legit question.

No, just don't arrive for your donation blatantly high.

They're generally only worried about drugs that are injected with needles.

Somewhere in the dark corners of the internet Blackbeard is currently adding a new "O Positive Coupon" column to his sheets.   :)

No idea yet. I've made an appointment to donate blood at 3pm (PST) tomorrow. In the name of science, and for the benefit of CAG community, I'll be be bringing an unsuspecting friend with me to donate as well. I'll report back with my findings!

Takes me back to college when I sold any bodily fluid I could. Good times.

Takes me back to college where every two months my Thursday tradition was to donate blood and then go out for hardcore drinking.

And top off the night with 2am Ping Pong!

Can you donate other " bodily fluids" or is it strictly blood?

Hi Fellow Cags! I'm not sure if this is considered a game deal so feel free to take down if it isn't. American Red Cross is currently giving a $15 certificate for blood donation. Certificate is good towards gamestop, bestbuy, and other major retailers or restaurants.

The email only says they need O Postive so YMMV?

Anyway, $15 certificate + donating blood for a good cause (AND) a possibility of getting a free cookie, sounds like a good deal to me.

Dunno if it stacks though.

Link for blood drive schedule donation:

I'm sure it'll stack up to 5 times, but any more than that you'd probably end up in a coma.

I'm pretty sure anyone with O positive would qualify. I dunno if other blood types are eligible though. Did anyone else with a different blood type get an email for this?

O-negative would almost definitely apply too since it's the best blood to donate (as anyone can use O-negative blood)

Misleading title. Should be:

Donate blood, get HIV.

I'm a regular blood donor and I do it for free...  I'm appalled by the CAG jokes, it's not very funny.  I know you guys have too much time on your hand, but a little civility to encourage a much needed donation is appreciated.

For those of you never have donated blood before.  There's a rigorous questionnaire before you start and they'll prick your finger to get a small sample to analyze your blood is good or not.  It's definitely not one of those things where you walk in and donate on the spot, if you're not healthy, you can't help even you really want to.  There's a shortage (almost always) because good O+ and especially O- are rare...  When an ER patient comes in and needs blood, there's no time to figure out the blood type, hence O- is used.
