Well I have an old "vcr" Xbox I wouldn't mind taking in, but I would have to trade in a limited edition controller. And I'm not sure I want to do that...
Pick up a used one from Amazon Warehouse Deals or from a GS store, bundle that with your VCR system trade-in so you can keep your LE controller.

Will you apologize to him when it turns out he's right?
Totally. And I'll apologize for all the name calling I did too.

Copying this from the other gamestop thread.
So it turns out it is $200 for the OG PS4, looks like $150 base + $50 trade in boost. However it *HAS* to be traded toward the switch. I tried two stores. The first store wanted me to pay for the remaining cost of the bundle (which would arrive next friday) as I didn't have the spare cash I had to pass. The second store would not allow me to do the trade unless they had switch's in stock.
I had hoped to slap it on a trade card but them's the breaks. Hope this is helpful to anyone who was curious.

The SM didn't even know about this promotion. He asked me "is this mr ihadmail (he used my real name)" when I confirmed it he told me which day they are scheduled to get their 5 switches.

The up to means as long as no refurb fee is needed & all components are included, you get the stated amount. Try again troll.
Sorry I asked for proof for this deal that someone else has since verified is real.

The fine print's too small.
Question, what so special about the Switch? It's a hybrid system but to me, it doesn't do either side well. It's too weak to be a home console and it's not all that portable to be a portable. It's software line up is meh (subjective of course). It's controller doesn't have a traditional d-pad so forget any fighting game... and $40 buys just half of the controller. All accessories are robbery pricing.
I do have the Wii and Wii U so I'm not anti-nintendo... well just anti-nintendo of america but that's another story.

It's not really that special. I felt the same you do now. I got the switch at launch and basically just sat there unopened for the first few weeks I had it. Only reason I opened it was because my kids wanted to play with it. After watching them have fun I gave it a try and it's a pretty fun system. The game lineup is really lacking, especially if you the the wiiu games they remade for them. The portable aspect of is the best part for me. I'd say if you have the games on wiiu, then just stick with that until a game that you want to play comes out for the switch. Splatoon 2 is fantastic though. I've been hooked since day 1 and I feel that game alone has finally justified my switch purchase. The fine print's too small.

For a OG PS4 trade in what stuff do you need to bring in? System, hdmi cable, power cable, and controller? Cause I'm not sure where my micro usb charging cable is for the system. Or can I just throw in any micro usb charging cable?

There really isn't anything special about it. Your analysis pretty much summed it up to the tee. The shilltrolls will call you a Nintendo hater if you don't absolutely bend over for king Reggie like they do. So get used to that. Lol! That said it's the exclusives that makes it worth buying. Agreed on the accessories too. I got lucky and got a pro controller off of CL for $30 though. The fine print's too small.

I grabbed a generic micro usb charging cable I had lying around, didn't get any questions about it.

Thanks. I wasn't sure about that. I still need to call my local gamestops to see if they have any Switch systems in. Or when they will be getting them. To see if I do the trade in it will hold a console for me. So I don't have to try and show up when they open and hope I get one. Which is an odd thing to say 5 months after the launch of a system.

I mostly play the Switch as a handheld and I think it's fantastic. It's perfect for lying in bed or on the couch and relaxing. For fighting games it does have a few fightsticks, which some might say is the only real way to play a fighting game. I like the games that are on the Switch and if there is something that's multiplat, I almost always prefer to get it on the Switch because of the flexibility. The Switch actually has some interesting downloadable titles like Ironcast, Shepy, Master Blaster and I'm sure some others. I do agree with you about the prices of the accessories.
I am also a huge fan of handheld consoles. Up until the Switch came out, I would play my Vita daily.

Have you seen the fight stick recently released by 8bitdo? Pretty nice
And all their other controllers(nes, snes) work with the Switch also.
I tried my NES one from them, works well.

Someone earlier posted the link on the GS site, jackass.
No wonder people don't feel comfortable posting on CAG anymore. If you're not in the cool kids club then F off is the attitude around here anymore.
This really bothers me, this used to be a cool site until this crap started happening around here. I've been visiting a long time now and for the last 6 months it has been like romper room meets the hoarders around here.

Does GS accept a 3DS with a cracked screen? I bet the refurb fee is significant. I ask because a pawn store near me has a 3ds with a cracked screen for $15. It turns on but the upper screen is 80% ed.

ed.
"Hardware exclusions include: Consoles with parental controls that can’t be removed. PS Vitas with cracked screens or severely scratched screens. PS3 systems that will not power on/yellow light shutdowns. Handheld Systems that will not power on with the charger plugged in. Systems known to be modified. Hardware with severe cosmetic damage to the extent of being clearly un-repairable, or to an extent that clearly renders it ineligible for resale (i.e. severe or unsightly scratches, cracked cases, exposed internal components). Systems infested with insects or any other creatures. Systems with specific cosmetic identifiers."
Says only Vitas with cracked screens they do not take.
