I still remember getting Street Fighter II for SNES for my birthday. My mom and I were at Toys R Us looking at the wall of games with tags, and she wanted me to pick out a game for my birthday. I really wanted SFII and it was way more expensive than the other games. But, she let me get it. I remember it was at least over $70.

Hi,

I just listened to the beginning of this podcast and I'm Very Excited to share that I have 5 PS4 controllers because we love local multiplayer here. The reason I have 5 (when the PS4 only accepts 4) is because one of them, the black one, is broken. One of the buttons is broken. It gets stuck or something. I don't remember exactly. I think I broke it by playing too many days of Rocket League. The 4 fully-functional PS4 controllers are of the following colors respectively: (1) red, (2) white, (3) blue, and (4) gray/white camo. I think the USA theme was unintentional but perhaps reveals my true colors. Do you see what I did there?

Anyway, I'm very excited! (This has nothing to with the fact that I don't wear pants.)

Excitedly,

Hi-Ed

P.S. I also have several 360 controllers lying around but only use the very useful wired one. I just played the "400 Days" Walking Dead DLC with it on my oldest 360 (the one that still works properly). I also use it from time to time on my old Windows Vista PC. I'm going to play Protal 2 on it any day now. I have been about to play it for years.

P.P.S I just wanted to type "P.P."

I'm curious as to what your thoughts on Mario + Rabbids are after a week...
How long do you guys think Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will stay at $60? Nintendo seems to keep their prices pretty constant, but since this is published by Ubisoft I'm hoping for a price drop soon. I'm even wondering if it will be as low as $30 come Christmas, what do you guys think?

Thanks for the show guys.

I know everyone in games media had fun crapping on Xbox One X but could you imagine if it didn't exist? I can already picture the headlines.

"Microsoft has no response to PS4 Pro"
"Xbox continues to lag behind PS4 in games and power"
Etc etc...

I think they needed the Xbox One X to prove that they are staying in the console game. I know they have no big blockbusters this year but with Player Unknowns Battleground being exclusive this holiday, that seems like a pretty big get.

Hopefully next holiday they have a few big games coming and maybe a $100 price drop on Xbox One X and they would have a great 2018.

Tick is great. Totally worth it just to watch Serafinowicz channel his inner Adam West; and the writing and performances by everyone else are on point.

Defenders was worth a watch if you skipped through most of the villains talking and backstory. And 'Andy Dwyer: Iron Fist' isn't very interesting, I skipped his mini-series other than some of the opener. Only thing to come out of 'Defenders' for me is the building toward Knight/Wing investigations, and they took a big step toward that at the end.

Hi Wombat!

I have some bad news about Lawbreakers for you and shipwreck. These are the steam numbers and it is probably even lower on the PS4.

It is a shame, I played the beta and it did seem fun.

When you guys were talking about catching fish with stale pancakes, I swear I was hearing a solution to a lost monkey island adventure game.

Fable 4 running in native 4K on XOX would have been a great MS exclusive for this holiday. What happened with Lionhead was a real shame.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-05-12-lionhead-the-inside-story

In October 2008, Microsoft released Lionhead's Fable 2 to critical and commercial acclaim. At a launch party an emotional Peter Molyneux held aloft glowing reviews and praised the exhausted team of developers who had spent the previous four years pouring everything they had into the game. Fable 2 would go on to win a BAFTA and become the best-selling role-playing game for the Xbox 360. Lionhead was on top of the world.

Seven-and-a-half years later, Lionhead's 100 or so staff were called to its in-house cafe for a meeting. There, Hanno Lemke, General Manager of Microsoft Studios Europe, announced that Fable Legends was cancelled and Lionhead would close. The famed studio Peter Molyneux co-founded nearly 20 years ago was dead.

There's nothing in Fable's history to suggest that a new game would be a graphics powerhouse or showcase. It could be a great game, but I doubt there would be anything there that would rival the graphics of something like Horizon Zero Dawn.

I don't know where people are getting the idea that there are no games showcasing the X1X capabilities. The new Metro game looks very impressive. I was in awe while watching the clip for it.

Reflecting on Wombats adventure to the central part of the state, the important question must be asked: being from the island what do you guys consider upstate? Being from the Albany area I'm guessing I'll have a different definition. I travel to NYC relatively frequently for work and most people I meet from down there usually say anything north of the metropolitan area (which leaves out 4/5ths of the state and is asinine)

P:S. if you haven't been already and are planning another vacation in state in the future, check out Lake Placid / Keen area. It's an amazingly beautiful spot, with lots of outdoor activities in both the summer and winter. Plus, 1980 USA  hockey.

Cheapy and the gang,

I finally purchased a PS4 Pro based on your recommendation for Horizon Zero Dawn. This is acutually my first Playstation console since the PS1!

Quesion for Cheapy: when you choose the settings for the PS4 Pro, do you choose higher resolution or the improved framerate? Have you even noticed any difference between the two? Maybe the choice is just a placebo...
