Should I sell XBONE outright or trade to Gamestop for credit?

CAGiversary!
I just got an XBOX ONE S, so I'm selling my launch XBONE.  I know I can join the PowerUp Pro and get the $50 bump for a total of $150 in GS credit.  But I don't usually buy stuff at Gamestop, I'm a Best Buy GCU or Amazon guy.  I doubt I could get more than about $100 cash for it, but is the $150 GS credit really worth more when their games seem to be at full retail?

If you can get $150 for the launch "vcr" system. I would say go for it. They do have sales on stuff, plus you can use it to buy a bunch of currency for your system if you can't find anything else.

I'm kinda debating the same issue. $150 isn't bad at this point because it's tough to sell a vanilla XB1 on the streets these days for more than 100, and it's only gonna get worse when the X comes out. I think the $50 bump is probably worthy though. You just gotta be smart about how you buy from Gamestop. Either wait until they do a B2G1, wait until Black Friday to use it, or sell it to someone here for like $120 or something.

I got a PS4 Pro recently and was trying to decide what to do with my original PS4. GS trade in with the bonus is $215 right now... which is more than I'd get if I sold it on eBay (probably $170 after fees, at best but no risk of buyer fraud) but I don't shop at GS much anymore so I'm not entirely sure i wanna trade it in.

It was nice being able to buy Amazon giftcards before but I heard it's much more complicated to do that now.

Base price for VCR Xbox is now $90 and with bonus trade in if you get PUR PRO would net you $125

With others have said, it will be harder to sell currently with all the deals going on with the Xbox One S and with Xbox One X coming in out in like 2-3 months. An advantage of trading it in over selling is it is quick and easy. Don't have to worry about shipping it/meeting someone for pickup and any other "work" related to selling it.

It is best to use it during deals like B2G1, Black Friday, or some type of amazing deal that does not involve MSRP.

There is another option where you can use this credit to make even more credit by buying and trading in between stores, but that involves doing some homework and time to figure out if it is work it for you.

Last possibly thing is if you are leaning towards digital content, you could always buy Xbox curreny/LIve from from.

Good luck!

When you have a PUR account, they give you a b2g1free coupon just for signing up.  They also periodically send out coupons, sometimes b2g1free, sometimes something else, like 20% off one used game on your birthday.  Just use the credit to buy used games that seem to never get a price drop(like nintendo first party switch games, or something that is out of print and would cost a ton no matter where you go, but you want it and want some sort of deal on it, like rare old ds games, or something good that you want.

$125 in credit for an xbox one is a decent deal, decent enough that I am thinking of just trading in my old xbox one.
