OhmConnect is a service that contracts with utility companies to save energy during peak usage times. They send out periodic alerts to members to save power during X hour and you'll earn points (which can then be cashed out via Paypal). The service works either by you manually reducing your usage (unplugging devices and adjusting usage) or by using wifi smart plugs which can be set to automatically turn off during a power saving event.
