Just did a purchase with 3 games. Here are the numbers. Maybe you can make sense how it stacked.

Gears of war 4: 14.99
Disc -4.50 promo
Disc -1.5 power up 10%

Total 9.44

If you're getting $9.44 pre tax, then they are not stacking. You're getting one discount off the full and then the next one off the discounted price. It would be $8.99 if you were getting both off the full price.

Wait what O.o i'm so confuzzled lol... I thought it'd be 20%-30% therefore $20-$30 per $100 and $10 difference between getting 2 vs 3 games...unless i'm totally remembering that promo incorrectly...

If they stack linearly then it's 10% for pur +
30% for b3 get 30% off = 40% off.

100 x .6 = 100 (1 - .4 ) = 100 - 40 = 60

If it cascades

(100 (1-.1)) (1 - .3)) = (100 x .9) .7) =
100 x .63 = 63

63 - 60 = 3

So cascading discounts cost you more, but not much more. Linear stacking gets you 40% off (this seems to be the way it's working) whereas cascade stacking gets you 37% off. Oh and because multiplication is commutative, it doesn't matter what order the discounts are applied in cascading.

I don't live somewhere w 5 percent tax. To me, it looked like 30% was taken off (14.99 to 10.49), then the 10% was taken off (10.49 to 9.44).

Not sure what term we are applying to that kind of discount. But the tax is added at bottom of receipt. Not with each individual game

Moral of the story, I'm happy I got gears of war 4 for less then 10 dollars and my friend and I just started going through the series together. Pretty fun

they literally just started selling used New 2DS XLs. but they are not 20$ off. just 3ds.

 

oh, well, that's good.  price is still high since they're a 'new' used item... I'm only going 2ds to save money, and at that point, i'd just go 3ds.

So it is cascading. Hence buy 3+ xb1 games pay 63 cents on the dollar for PUR members. Slightly better than a B2G1 alone where you pay 67 cents on the dollar. PUR + B2G1 is 60 cents on the dollar (I think that was confirmed to not stack wit the multiple Xb1 games deal)

I've heard of people getting repros, but never experienced that personally.  I've bought Minish Cap and dozens of other GB games.  They were all originals.

Yeah I wouldn't suggest buying Chrono Trigger for SNES. Bought it twice and it was a repro both times.

I bought Hitman on pro day for 20% off of 27.99. Was going to return/ rebuy and pick up a couple other titles for this discount. With that price spike I won't even bother. GS being GS caused  them to lose a couple of additional sales.

I still keep buying them even though they are probably fake because you can always return them and you aren't out anything, just don't get your hopes up. I figure better me, who can tell that it's fake, than some poor guy that doesn't realize he got screwed. Bought Mega Man 7 twice, Metal Warriors twice, and Ninja Warrior once. All fake. I haven't bought many GBA games from them, but those are also highly faked, especially Pokemon. I've even seen some fake common games like Batman.

It still is actually one of the better places to get retro games, some prices are a little below eBay after your discounts. Just do your research and compare eBay prices. Otherwise your options are eBay, or if you are lucky local retro game stores, which not everyone has them. Also the main reason GameStop is enticing is if you have GameStop credit to use up. And just remember you can do in store returns for anything you buy online, if you are dissatisfied at all. I even will return games if the label is faded.
