Wii U massively acting up

Something weird is happening with my Wii U, and it's happening quite regularly.. almost 1 in 4 startups.

When I start up the system, the Wii U Control Pad tells me it couldn't connect to the system and to move closer and reset the system..

While the system itself will not reset or even turn off, it is literally frozen and the only way I can get it to actually start/work is to unplug the console to reset the system.

So, anyone know what's going on?
 

Happens to my Wii U pretty often and I only sit about 8 feet away. It's not surprising. Your Wii U is basically streaming video to the Wii U tablet so any type of interference is gonna cause issues since it uses short range antennas.

Less then 6 feet from the console here..

Only way I can get it to work right is to unplug and replug the system in sadly.

Never had to do that... I just sit there and it usually figures itself out within 30 seconds or so.

The system itself doesn't display anything or show anything it's just frozen.

I'll wait next time and see what happens.
