CAG16 still not working for ELITE PRO (UNRESOLVED)

Hey Cheapy, 

I know this was brought up already and resolved but as it turns out GS.com is only stacking the CAG16 code for regular PRO members. Anyone who upgraded to Elite Pro (Gamestop's new higher tier Power Up Rewards) is not getting an extra discount. Elite Pro members already get 20% off but with CAG16 and Regular old Pro you get 26% off. 

Is there anything that can be done to offset this difference? Maybe a new 10% code CAG10 for ELITE members or at least CAG6 to make up the extra 6%?

I mean we are all cheapasses after all. 

 
I like Gamers Club just as much as the next guy\gal but every blue moon Gamestop has a decent used deal. Rare but it happens. 

 
This could be done in an email and not the deal forum. Right? Maybe general discussion, etc? Maybe a cookie bouquet with a card featuring this question? You know maybe hire a sky writer but you have to use slang because it costs too much per letter but it’d still get your message across better than looking like a guy who just got here and thinks there’s one place on this whole website. Maybe?
 
I opted to upgrade 1 account in the family to elite and keep the other account pro. Both accounts already existed so it wasn't an extra membership fee. Understandably this may not work for everybody.

Great deal, in for 10. Do I still get a 5% off coupon for the new CoD when trading my first born on the eve of All Souls Day while chanting "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn?" Or is that only on rentals now, since Gamestop is a fucking horrible company that you should feel ashamed for shopping at?

You're welcome, man-child creating additional threads in the wrong forum to increase exposure for a request that was already fielded a few days ago and moved to the appropriate sub-forum. Congratulations on the entitlement, I'm sure GS will submit to Cheapy immediately and stack an extra 16% on top of the 20% you paid more for.

Is your math right?

I mean usually % off codes don't stack as in a + b, but maybe GS is the one store that does that.

Also, wrong forum. You'll have a better chance at a response in the questions forum or tweeting at CAG.

 
No, this is the right place for this imo. It directly impacts deals on Gamestop.com and the fact that we upgraded with the intention and expectation of using CAG16 but it doesn't work is a problem that needs to be addressed.

If it isn't going to work with Elite, let people know so they don't waste money on a membership when they can get a cheaper one that offers a greater discount.

And yes yes i know if they wont give us unlimited discounts on discounts we wont buy from them. Maybe this is just a retaliation for the great summer of trade ins or whatever we called it. Or the b-day codes/etc. people used over and over. Or the deformers codes we all got that were meant for employees. Or detailing how to make multiple accounts for kongregate with the 'add a . trick' to get more $5 codes for free.

But honestly, as a business standpoint for GameStop, they have a premium subscription that is not as good for an entire community (cag) than their mid tier subscription. People on cag will say “don’t upgrade” when GameStop would like everyone to upgrade to their highest tier. Just makes sense for them to either stack the existing codes or make a new code (like a cag10).

Ok, great. I'll copy and paste my post from the other fuck ing thread.

"I don't know if this will help the GS coders solve anything. During the Retro B2G1 on the weekend of Sept. 30th through October 2nd, the elite 20% discount, CAG16, and the retro B2G1 promo all stacked and worked together at once. Then on October 3rd, something happened that made the Elite 20% discount not work together with CAG16 at all. Whatever coding they implemented in the early morning of October 3rd made CAG16 FUBAR with elite. I haven't placed a gamestop.com order at all since then because of this. 
 
I would assume the risk of refurbished disc only games for 26% off. I'm such a CAG that paying a $30 membership fee for 6% less discount is a deal breaker."
 
 
 
I guess I'll copy and paste it to every thread when the old one gets "resolved" and moved to the shopping discussions. 
 
Is Elite Pro worth it? I just renewed my Pro membership and honestly had no idea this was available b/c it was never mentioned to me. 20% off is nice... but GS's used prices suck these days. 

 
You just need 2 accounts.  1 Pro and 1 Elite.  :)

But at the same time, it didn't escape me that CAG16 was back to stacking with Pro the day after the Retro sale ended.  

 
The whole issue is for a very specific group... PUR Elite (and Pro a few days back) and knowing the existence of CAG16

Not until I came to this board, I didn't know the code CAG16 and I bet most people out there don't know this code.

I see this code as a privilege, while people who has been enjoying stacking it with other PUR see as a norm, but totally forget that there is a larger population that either don't have PUR, don't know this code or usually buy used games in store.

If GS deems that too much trouble to care about this group and get rid of CAG16 altogether, we all lose.

Still hoping this will get fixed because I got some stuff I want to buy, wonder if I can cancel my Elite and get back on Pro.

 
Well, I sure hate to be the bearer of bad news but GS is going to disable CAG16 from working with PUR Pro and Elite. I was told the reason for this is that GS’s current coupon tool is unable to effectively apply the discount with the new multiple tiers of PUR.

I’m hoping we can get something else going with them. Sorry, guys.

So they're going to stop CAG16 from stacking with PUR Pro like it has been for the past few days just because? It's really that difficult for them to create a new code that works just with Elite?

Thanks for contacting them, but that sounds like a lazy response from GS.
