Isn’t it difficult to play this game now without all the newer “Year 2” content and whatever else has come along?

It's not that it's more difficult, it's just that it requires a ton of grinding to unlock dlc operators. You can still play well with the affordable base game operators however.
 
If you're new to the game you honestly shouldn't be playing any DLC characters until you figure out what you're doing anyways.
 
Oh, as a kid I like FPS games, they are some of the most interesting and logical ones. I was always looking for new games but the problem was I couldn't play them without Cdkey. Now I play Cybertrunk thanks to cdkeysforgames.com
