We've all been elsewhere neglecting this thread, but here we are! Back again and it tastes so sweet!

Holiday Prep Time!

I been playing the original Super Mario bros today while at work. It's kind of rough to go back to after being used to the physics of SMB3. I die all the time.

I've been doing a little Mario too, mostly Mario Maker tho. I still have not been able to finish an Expert run. Too much crap every time I try.

Hope the payoff is worth all the build up over the years.

I actually am really excited for Infinity War. Specifically, because I think that between the most recent revelation of Wolverine being back in the comics and the attempted acquisition at Fox, that Wolverine may be revealed to be the last person that has an Infinity Stone in a stinger at the end of Infinity War. Hugh Jackman said that the only thing that would make him come back for more would be if he could fight the Hulk or alongside Captain America, so I'm sure he'd be down. Biggest impressive thing is that it sounds like the main reason Disney is trying to buy Fox is for the Marvel licenses and they're willing to divest themselves of one of the news networks to make sure the sale isn't blocked by the FTC. That shit blows my mind. They'd be giving up a lot just to make sure all the comic folks can play together.

Now if only they'd buy Sony. I saw that a lot of people believe Spidey dies in Infinity War and is infected with the Symbiote so that he'll get his black costume. I'm kind of hoping that is a set up, because Venom without Spider-Man having a black suit first just sounds bleh. I want Black Suit Spidey fucking shit up for at least 20 minutes.

I need to get back into Mario Maker. I been mainly playing other games lately, but it's almost all Nintendo stuff. I wish they'd hurry up and release the Virtual Console stuff on the Switch.

Started playing Friday the 13th. Fun game, but it feels so janky and unpolished.

Super excited for Infinity War though, since Thor Ragnarok was so damn fun to watch!

It really does have Jank and that impresses me. You can’t even tell Gun made like fucking 100 million from it. Still, I had fun with it. I wonder if it was mainly my love of the series and my brothers, doe.

Thor Ragnarok was great. I need to rewatch it.

Totally stoked for Infinity War too.

As for the comics, I'm thinking Marvel will be slowly building up their own Infinity Stone storyline over the next couple years, and will probably pay off sometime near when Avengers 4 comes out. It's already starting in Guardians of the Galaxy, and will probably start seeping into other books next year.

Going to see Thor Ragnarok again tomorrow. Best Thor movie of the three made so far.

Last GGT was one of the longest-lived ones ever. I'm not certain we can be done with this one by New Years, but I'll give it a try...

We can use this to... post random stuff?

It's 2017 and I bought a Wii yesterday. Wiis are super cheap now. Gonna set it up for my nieces and nephews to play when they're over for the holidays. It came with 4 controllers and a bunch of shovelware, but I did get Mario Kart and Mario Party 8 too, so there's at least something good for them to play. I never owned a Wii until now. Need to get an HDMI converter for it, because I hear Gamecube games look really good thru it.

I've played the Wii I have a few times with the family, but haven't touched it in like 3 years. But alone, I don't think I have played more than like 1 hour by myself.

Also, watched Wonder Woman for the 1st time yesterday. Actually liked it a lot. Movie was so badass. Also love the new theme. There was one scene where she puts on glasses and I thought at that moment that Gal Gadot was the most beautiful woman in the world.

New Mega Man game looks good. Glad to see a Mega Man X collection, but I hope its at least as good as the one they released on the PS2/Gamecube or I'll stick with my 'Cube version.

The Wii is a great system. Especially if you softmod it. I picked up a cheap, cheaaaaap one about 5 years ago now just for softmod purposes and totally didn't regret it. Was my favorite console for the mod capabilities until I got a Dreamcast. That system is just amazing.

Wonder Woman was amazing. I saw it three times at the movies and twice at the drive-in here. I also picked up the blu during Black Friday, but I've been busy rewatching Logan and every other movie that I picked up from that.

Just finished soft-modding my Wii, and it was easier than I thought and I'm glad I did it. I hear new licensed Dreamcast controllers and stuff is coming soon. The DC controller was one of the main reasons I never got into the system, honestly.

I've been working so much these past few weeks that I've barely had time for anything else, but I'm off all next week and don't go back until after the new year, so I'm hyped about some free time! Gonna play so many games, it'll be great.

Merry Christmas GGT!!

I got you all K-pop gifts.

Anyone got any noteworthy gifts?
I got a Marvel Legends Moon Knight and Captain Universe Spider-Man figure along with some Tove Lo and Fallout Boy records. I really had a nice Christmas. Man, I can't believe the GGT is so dead since we have a discord now. Makes me feel like CAG is really dying.

I never even did the thing where I change my avatar to Christmas Turniphead on December 1st, then change it to the Krampus on the 23rd. I've been doing that shit for like, the last 6 or 7 years.

The GGT is consistently the best thread on CAG that doesn’t star FriskyTanuki!

Its impact lasts on the site to this day and baby, let me tell you that their ain’t no brakes on this train.

Can't wait for the holidays. Only a few months away!
The constant new stream of GGT's need to stop. There's a new one every week it seems. How about double the waiting time before creating a new GGT?

Trying to get through MGS3.

Spoiler
I sped up time to beat The End, but I have a save before him so I can go back and beat him the right way...without Thermal Goggles.

I have a ways to go, although I'm only 8 hours into it. After beating MGS3, I'll go through MGS2.
KingBroly finally got what he wished for in GGT 42! It only took roughly a decade to get done!

Remember when Indignate posted this on GAF?

Does this mean the GGT can finally die?
I do. So sad.

https://www.neogaf.com/threads/cheapassgamer-site-hacked.1172420/page-3

We even had a GGT on GAF!

https://www.neogaf.com/threads/ggt-1-were-on-neogaf-now.686733/

But like Damn Daniel, we're back at it again!

This was one of my first GGTs ever. Look at how fun we used to be! Frosty is so grump!

Recently, I've had so little time for gaming, and no time at all for CAG. For the last few months, I think I've come here only a couple of times.

Just got a new PC a couple months ago, and I still haven't installed Discord onto it. Not that I was ever that active there.

I just hate working all the time now. I'm making more money now than I ever have in my life, big stacks of cash in my bank, and no time whatsoever to enjoy. I still buy games and they sit on my shelf waiting for me to have time to play them. Took me two months to finish Mass Effect: Andromeda, and it wasn't worth two months of my small playing time. I've got triple-A games that I haven't played, and I chose crap like ME:A just because I wanted to get it out of the way, when I should have been playing Horizon, or Yakuza Kiwami or a dozen better games in my backlog.

I really hate having so little time for my hobby. Adulting is terrible, and I don't recommend it to anyone.

Anyway, hay Joel, hay GGT.

This was one of my first GGTs ever. Look at how fun we used to be! Frosty is so grump!

Hah! Good read. I just got a PS3 Move bundle then and was so excited to waggle.

I'm in the same place, Krymner. I barely do anything but work anymore. It blows, but hey, making a living is a thing, I guess! I remember those days when we'd waggle so fondly.

Yeah, waggle was overrated, but I thought it was neat for the first month I tried it. I think I played the Sony sport game that was the Move pack-in about three times before getting rid of it. I played about 15 min of RE5 with a Move controller before returning to the standard dualshock. The only other games I ever played with the Move were the Resident Evil  and Dead Space rail shooters that were originally on Wii but re-released on PS3. After a couple months after purchasing it, I didn't touch a Move controller again until I recently picked up a PSVR.

So, what is everyone doing for the 4th? Life has been crazy for me so I'm not planning anything except sitting around.

Just barbecue with some friends and family for myself. Then play some games maybe.

I'm planning on seeing Ant Man & Wasp Thurs. night. Really looking forward to seeing that.

Happy 'Murrica day, GGT! I'm ready for the holiday!

Hi! Life has been crazy. We have had a number of bad things happen lately and that's why I've been posting less.

Life is hard.

I have been playing Fortnite.

I live in the states again, so I'll probably remember to actually swing by here more often. The international deals section was preeeeeetty lacking.

How is everyone? Moved onto discord now?

Hope things get better soon. Trust me, they eventually will. Then they will get crap again. Then better. Then crap. Circle of life.

I'm at a pretty good spot in my life, I just don't have much free time anymore, especially to play video games.

But I have been playing a little Octopath Traveller, Darkest Dungeon, and some dot.Hack/GU. I've also picked up a few cheap PSVR games like Rush of Blood and Eagle Flight which are pretty neat.

Yep everyone is on discord now. The GGT on CAG is pretty dead now, but so is CAG in general I think.

I know! Welcome back to the States, m'man! We do have a GGT discord now and it's decently active, but nothing like the good old days.

Thanks, mang. Living in the South West as opposed to the South East is just a big difference and difficult to get used to.

Glad you've been doing well! How you liking Octopath? I liked the demo, but knowing how long it is I'd probably never finish the full game.

I'm finding Octopath to be decent, but I'm not as excited about it as others, and honestly I don't understand why people have seemed to make it be such a huge deal. Compared with the wider scope of other turn-based RPGs, there's nothing that really makes it very unique. But its solid in the gameplay, the story is decent enough, and the little quirks the game has are interesting enough. I'm taking it slow, so it'll be a few months before I manage to beat it.

Octopath and LA Noire (which I got really cheap) are the only Switch games I have right now.
