Hey all, 

Amazon is having a promotion where if you trade-in "any qualifying game, console or accessory" by 12/16, you get a bonus $50 savings on a 1TB PS4 Pro that's shipped and sold by Amazon. In addition to this, on 12/10 the base price for the Pro is supposed to go down to $349 (according to Sony).

I have successfully completed a simple, qualifying trade-in and I'm being offered the $50 savings at checkout on a $399 Pro so I know the offer has applied to my account. If you've traded in with Amazon before, you may qualify for "instant payment" where they apply the gift card balance to your account prior to them actually receiving the game. I can also confirm that the $50 savings will also apply instantly if you qualify for that option.

Please note that Amazon is stating that the promotional savings will expire if not used by 1/31/18!

Thank you OP! While I wish Sony would just drop the Pro to $299 (Officially), this is a excellent offer!  Got a used DS 4.... gonna check now..

 
Thank you for sharing this promo. Amazon trade-in has really gone downhill; most of the newer PS4 games aren't even available to trade in. The struggle to find something to trade in is real
 
So the base price is only bein lowered to 349 from 12/10 to 12/16 then its goin back up ?

I wonder if the pro will be $349 every where for that week, and if so, will GameStops offer a trade in deal.
 
Damn, could barely find something that they were taking. Finally submitted Mafia 3 for PS4 for a whopping $8.11. When I add the Pro to my cart and go to the checkout screen it shows the -$50 discount. Now to wait for the sale starting on 12/10.

 
Lowest cost flip trade I found is the Tomee AC adapter. Buy it from Amazon for $4.99 + tax, trade in for $0.98. net flip cost is $4.50 for me to get $50 coupon.

My only concern is that the appraisal may take a few days and I'll miss the $349 price tag...

Edit: Tomee adapter, not "Timer" adapter

Oops, I missed the part about using the Instant Payment option. Had to cancel my existing trade-in and then redo it with instant payment to get the $50 promo instantly. Doing another trade will not work as it was already applying it to the non-instant payment trade-in.
 
Already locked a $39 flip of nhl 18 from the bestbuy $24 sale glitch, but didn't think to do instant payment, and now most games aren't even accepted anymore.  Oh well, might get there in time anyway, but I bet there will be a similar price or bundle deal before the $50 coupon expires in January.

 
I can't believe Sony waited until mid-December to lower the price of the Pro. Really missed a chance to draw some attention away from the X if they had done this a month ago.

I wonder if this will actually work.  "The promotional bonus will be applied at checkout and cannot be combined with any other offer."  They might consider the Sony $50 off a special offer, since it's only for a limited time.  Still tempting to try...

 
Just traded in Jackass the game for PSP (given to me by a neighbor) for $1 with instant payment. Added PS4 pro to cart, $50 credit shows up. Now going to wait for sunday's $50 price drop. $299 will be mine. 5% back on Amazon Visa will cover tax.

If Amazon doesn't let this stack, it's no sale, no loss.

You're lucky you didn't do instant payment. They charge you for the gift card immediately, and then only reimburse you IF the trade is accepted. Now you may be saying to yourself "what does he mean, surely it will get accepted". Not necessarily, as Amazon trade department has been jerking people around for years.

If you shipped it within 2 weeks of submitting the trade, you should be good to go, as you are given 25 days from the date of submission, for them to recirve it and grade it.

It will go back briefly and couple months later, it'd be permanent $349. This is nothing new for Sony and MS console pricing this gen. @$349, it's makes perfect sense to combat the $499 X1X throughout the slower seasons of the year until MS drops it to $399 next BF. ;)

 
300$ is so good price.    

Really makes me appreciate that target deal i got a year ago on my pro for 320$ dang.

This is a pretty good deal, but a little too late for me.

I spent all my 4K-hdr money on something else, so I'll just keep gaming like it's 2013, haha.

Hell, I'll probably end up with a better set next year for the money I woulda spent this year.

 
Is amazon usually good about trade ins? I remember hearing bad things years ago. I just did my first trade in so hopefully everything goes smootly. All the games play fine. Some are never used. 

Was surprised to see Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy still going for $22. Which jumped in trade in price since yesterday. I bought it for $6 during the prime day glitch and never played it. Was also glad to see Zelda Wind Waker for gamecube go for $18. Some decent prices to trade in if you can find them. I will trade in more with Amazon in the future as long as this goes smoothly.

I got the instant payment so the $50 discount is working for Sunday. I guess I will trade in my OG white destiny PS4 to gamestop next week. Amazon didn't seem to offer trade ins for it. I don't even have a 4k tv. So not sure how much use this will do me. Would buy a 4k tv if my 1080p one broke or something but it is working fine.

Is it black? I think you have to search your specific bundle/model.

From what I saw they seem to mainly be accepting bundles for the OG 500gb PS4. I am not sure if you can just buy one of these bundled games (Uncharted/Last of Us) and send it in with the OG PS4 and say it is a bundle.

 
I figure I can get a PS4 Pro for $125~ with this deal. My launch PS4 is loud and occasionally gets a disk error message, so I think I'll hand it off before it completely dies.

Do you think they will notice a different USB charging cable? Last year the original fell apart and I cannot remember if it had the PlayStation logo on it or not.
 
if anyone in socal missed out on the white destiny bundle I have one that's open package. selling it at cost. i would hate to send it back to amazon because I checked out with amazon smile and they will take the donation back

I’ve submitted a trade in and went with the automatic payment and received the gift card balance but the promotional credit for the Pro isn’t showing up for me when I check out.
 
I'm tempted to see if I can convert some GS credit to Amazon for this.  Does anybody know if GameStop will let you load trade credit to Amazon Cash?

For a friend, he has a og ps4. They show the last of us ps4 trade in over $150 but the game was a voucher, since the memory would be wiped couldnt he trade his non last of us as one? There wouldnt be a difference would there?
 
I bought one, thanks op. Would not have known about this deal w/o you. Went ahead and signed up for an amazon card for $70 off and 5%, just recently found out about this deal
