Doom VFR PSVR bundle $279.99 at Dell.com

I wonder if the skyrim bundle was an error. It comes with 2 move controllers which the doom bundle doesn't. Odd that they would be on sale for the same price.

It probably is, but what they don't know won't hurt them. ;) They're both listed for regular price of $399 with $120 discount...

Funny enough, the Gran Turismo VR bundle is going for $349 ($399 with $50 discount). That one is the worst deal of all.

From Dell chat representative, TIP_SUP_Joanna Q:

We have a 30-Day Price Guarantee. If the price on Dell.com drops within 30 days of your purchase's invoice date, you're entitled to get a partial refund, upon approval. To get this done, kindly call our Orders Management Associates from our Customer Care Office at 1-877-717-3355.
Heads up, they are closed today.

I can't believe I wasted 3 hours for that.

Hey, so just wanted to confirm that if you bought the Skyrim VR bundle earlier, you can call in and get the price adjusted down to $279, which I think is the lowest it's gone for. Pretty sweet; I'm glad I took a chance on that (even though it hasn't shipped out yet).

It almost makes up for the fact that I'm going to die alone.

Guys maybe instead of calling Dell just have your credit card do a purchase price adjustment. My Citi and discover do this. Maybe Amex as well.

Sure seems like the Skyrim thing is a mistake (I clicked through to the product page, it is saying $399).

I'm also going to say that I don't understand the idea that retailers "owe" a price adjustment when a price drops.  Most do just to keep customer bitching down, but if you agreed to buy it for a given price, then the transaction is complete, right?   If the retailer sends you a partial refund, then it should be recognized that this is a generous thing on their part, not something they "owe" you necessarily from a moral or ethical view.

A lot of companies have fine print that even says they have no obligation to honor a price mistake. Many times, they will just cancel your order. As said before, if you complain, they will sometimes honor your request but that is to keep you from bad mouthing them.

I agree, while it would have been nice to be one of the lucky few to squeeze thru and get the deal. I feel like I got good value at the $335 Black Friday price... especially when you filter for completed auctions on eBay, and ppl have successfully sold/purchased this bundle for nearly $600.

I know this is CAG so I guess some ppl just like to live up to that name, with extra emphasis on the "cheap ass" lol

if i bought it around black friday i could get the adjustment? you have to call? it can't be done through online chat?

No, don't waste your time with online chat, they can't do anything. I called the number this morning and I had no problem (I thought I would have to fight it).

In response to the critics, I feel like it's bad business to advertise your "lowest" price one week and then discount it even further the next (whether it's in error or not). Anyway, it's their own 30-day policy I'm taking advantage of, and it should be standard policy if it's within the return date on the receipt. It saves me the trouble of having to return it and repurchase it for the discounted price (which I was already considering doing in response to the Target sale). I don't usually end up on the "winning" end of a good deal, and this was my biggest purchase all year, so allow me this brief respite.

Well since you tried it and technically it's in their policy.. I decided to give it a whirl. They weren't willing to honor it.

So consider yourself lucky.

If it makes you feel better I paid the full $350. No regrets. I don’t over think 50-60 bucks. Honestly next yr I could see $150 and $250 bundles. Sony is trying to dominate VR and no one can compete on price.

Do you think any titles /bundles are worth it now? Because I bought it at launch and I saw the potential but I also saw the potential in Sony 3DTV games.....with move as well lol

But doom looks like the best affordable bundle but do you think the roster is worth it now, and if either yes or no, do you think we’ll see all games with VR capability by next year or will they be this years clearance like the ps 3DTV bundles??

Is PS VR a constant , and or inevitable add on to embrace ? Just wanna know weather to get it now or wait

(Or get a switch and really wait till more bundles)

Long story short , I jumped on the 3D tv bandwagon too. And imo the psvr is not at all worth it...yet. The catalog is very limited and you can tell graphically it’s a first gen device. The next gen vr sets will most def be worth it if content exists. I’d personally get the switch for now. I’m also an adult who lives life like a spoiled kid, so buying a psvr was just another toy for me.

Honestly, vr has a few hours of wow factor. I think it ruines some gaming experience but certainly enhances others. Basically it’s a mixed bag atm.

I'm sorry to hear that. That sucks! I would've fought it.

Just look, search for "Playstation VR" on Dell.com: http://pilot.search.dell.com/playstation%20vr

It still comes up as $279.99 on the search listings. If it's an error, they haven't fixed it.

VR is certainly a luxury for me and at that price ($55 off what I paid), I don't feel so guilty for splurging on myself. Especially in these primitive times when VR is still in its awkward, developing stages and there are only a few worthwhile games. (That's assuming they don't run like shit on a regular PS4 Slim. :???:)

It depends, I got the $199 bundle because I have Re7 (which it seems to be the best way for VR) and I like the game a lot.

You also can try for movies, and even Porn :p
Sony seems to start to show more interest in doing VR games in the next days. It seems to me that Sony is waiting to see the reactions of the customers with this sale.

They announced a few Vr games compatible like The last Guardian and other VR only games.
The selection is quite good but not that big.
In the meantime If money is an issue you better get a switch.

I think otherwise. Switch is just another Nintendo cycle (and a quick act to replace their failed Wii U) the only selling point is their 1st party exclusive games like Mario and Zelda. A lot of games were remakes or ports, with downgraded graphics, from other consoles. It's still the same gaming experience on a "new" form factor. However, to me the form factor is not innovative. If I want portability, I have many other choices like phones, tablet (Switch uses Tegra X1, a tablet processor) or even gaming laptop which can now even bring a MR headset to have VR on the go

VR is different, it's a new gaming experience. You can certainly wait for next VR gen, just like some people can say I don't want PS4 now, I think PS5 should be around the corner and I'd rather wait. That's your choice.

There are many VR games out there, just might not have many big franchise names. VR will also be a minor and more like an enhanced gaming experience because it's limited to first person view only and not for everyone physically.

Where is the best place to find this?

ASKING FOR A FRIEND
Hahaha sure. You have to download files and upload to an sd then DL a vr movie player on psn to watch. I don’t recommend dling porn illegally. If they get your IP, they’ll publicly shame you in a local newspaper and then sue you. It happened to my old boss...twice.

So Dell chat was worthless, they would not price match the Skyrim bundle price, claiming they were already aware and that this was a "time bound offer."  I asked "what does that even mean?"  Anyway I knew he was full of it and asked for a superviser.. he said "You can call us on 800-624-9897, but they will inform you the same."

So I called the number.. got probably one of the best Dell reps I have ever talked to, $55 refund is on its way.  So thanks OP for the heads up on the price drop on the Skyrim bundle.

My total for the bundle is:

$334.99

$26.46 : Tax

-----------
$361.45 : Original Total

-$55.00 : Price match
-$50.25 : TopCashBack (might get adjusted due to the price match)
-----------

$256.20 : Grand Total (what a steal)

By the way it now shows the $279.99 on the product page and not just the search page of the Skyrim bundle, so that will really help those trying to price match.

Buy a switch...it made me a believer. I only buy Nintendo consoles for first party games. I personally think the switch is a very fresh concept. Pretty much since the GameCube, 3rd party titles have always been better on other consoles.

i have little experience dealing with customer service of any kind

what is the best way to go about getting the partial refund, especially when others are claiming they were denied the refund?

There really is no trick.. you have to be a little lucky to get a rep that is willing to work with you. If you start getting the feeling they aren't going to work with you, then let them go and call back and try again. All you need to do is let them know you bought the Skyrim VR bundle less than 30 days ago. Per their policy they guarantee the price will not go down or they will match the new price. They will then look up the item and see the new price and offer to refund the difference. Good luck and remember, this 10 minute call is worth $55.

i called and had zero issues getting the refund, he said it would take 8 business days

thanks

After the second attempt I was able to get the adjustment. Sold Skyrim and the vr demo on eBay (DONT TELL ME HOW TO LIVE MY LIFE! [emoji12])... so $235 for the v2 vr, camera and 2 of the v2 move controllers... not bad.

makes sense. Skyrim is old af now so that vr game price will probably start plunging in a couple months.Might as well buy a little later when it's $15.

Forgot about Dell rewards.. they just sent me $10 for this purchase making my total go down even further..  what a steal.

DX is it normal for the text to be kinda fuzzy in psvr games? I have the original PS4 system and the v2 psvr headset. re-calibrating over and over is a real pain in the ass and the text is never perfectly clear.

I'm having the same problem. It's kind of giving me a headache. I get the overall effect but the image is not crisp or sharp at all. I've tried changing the eye width settings, cleaning the lenses and messing with the headset placement, but even the best positions seem blurry. I don't know if my device is defective or if I'm just defective...

Gotta agree 110%
Blows the other guys outta the water, like it's not 2009 anymore....FPS days should be over by now....and Nintendo knows/knew this all along
Sony shouldve shifted more towards Nintendo rather than continue the stupid and long dead competition with crap box 1 vS or w/e MS is thing to do to stay relevant
I own PS 1-4, and 4 ps3s, and the switch finally beat the eight core Monsters like David n Goliath
U might not see it, but as usual ,I'll be proven right by next year, and I'll quote this post to remind myself

Switch is good....it's VR that's going to be the new Wii U bro, but enjoy the fad for now, maybe try some 3D PS3 games with the move too while your at it, just as bad If not better lol

Some games do better jobs than others with text. I'm finding a year later that I can still adjust the headset some and get a cleaner view.

Some games are blurrier than others. You could play a demo like Battlezone, Dino Frontier or Job Simulator to see if the game still looks blurry or crisp. Even PS3 level graphics will take a resolution hit that's very apparent.

I think the Switch will have a healthy lifespan but it's got a limited library and most of the Nintendo problems the other consoles have had. I'm a big VR fan and I'd say anyone who is struggling with VR is likely going to be more frustrated in the long run and the next version 3-4 years from now is going to be much improved.

agreed as well
they Need to beef up their library
(I owned a switch AND a VR but wasn't glued to it so I got rid of so I'm not trolling against it but just imho...I'm getting the switch again for Xmas tho, need Mario...and my Zelda back)
