xbox gold 12 month - ever on sale?

Hi folks - got my son an xbox one for xmas.

Do the 12 month gold subscriptions ever go on sale?  It seems that the ps plus ones are on sale all the time, but I haven't seen much of anything for gold. Figured I'd ask here before paying full price, being a CAG and all.
