Best Buy Elite Plus worth it?

So I am exactly $105 away from reaching $3,500 in purchases this year from Best Buy (thanks OLED!), but I was just wondering...  is it really worth it?  How long does it last, is it just going to reset at the end of the year or how long does it last? 

could just buy a gift card for the amount to get you over, so can use for later.

Just checked the terms, and I guess they changed that gift cards weren't eligible for points.

This could be a good way to go.

Just like elite, elite plus starts right after points post for the 3500. You’ll get it as long as you make the transaction before January.

Say you only spend 1500 to get elite next year you get $7.50 not including double points w gcu purchases and no BB credit card.

But since you’re right there you might as well snag $150 gift card w 15 bonus. It just means you have to spend 1665 to get elite next year.

Eh, I had plus last year and only got to elite for next year. I don't think it's a huge difference from what I can see on paper, but I guess I'll see after the new year. I think mainly the increased rewards points will be all that'll be missed. The free shipping will still work on anything you'd normally buy from what I've heard so probably not a huge deal.
