Mafia 3 9.99 new @ gamestop

I feel like this has been $10 there for awhile now. But either way, I’d say it’s deffinitly worth it at this price.

It was $8 bucks after GCU a week or two ago.

Picked it up then, and yeah, it's def. a very fun purchase for $10 or less.

Deal is still going.

Also, this was $10 I believe 2 weeks ago for those that were curious, Believe it was this price at BB last week as well. I picked it up, I'm sure it's worth $10.
Darn. My GCU ran out Friday. I wish I'd have seen that. Can't afford to re-up right now. Iknow it's only $2, lol, but I just can't bring myself to buy at $10 if that is the new going sale rate, which it sounds like it will be.

It's soo worth it at that price. I got it shortly after launch. The deluxe edition is also nice if you can find it and provides hours of playtime.

This is one of those games where the score doesn't tell you the whole story.  I still recommend it even tho I think it's a 7/10 game.

It's a bit shallow in the open-world, needs more variety in gameplay and less grind (racket) missions, but the cinematics, characters, soundtrack, everything else is worth experiencing, at the low price of $10.

I'm one of the folks who enjoys both the Mafia series and the GTA series.  I wish there were more series like them to help fill the void between releases.

Just hard to justify making this purchase to stay unopened....backlog has dark souls 3, watch dogs 2, and wolfenstein new order in it.

I've bought Mafia 3 twice now and have yet to play it. I picked up early last year for like $16 after GCU and used it to up my trade-ins during the Gamestop extra credit promotion we all took advantage of last year. I recently bought the game again for $8 with the recent Best Buy sale. Looks like a good time and I like the setting, the backlog is just too big right now.

Please tell me that's not your entire backlog? I can't even remember when I only had 3 games in my backlog. Maybe when I first bought a Dreamcast

I know right? But last few new games I bought all sealed. One of the rep told me all the new ones are sealed except display items are opened.
I bought two new games on Thanksgiving and one was sealed and one wasn't. I don't buy too many new games from them. Most have been sealed but not all.

I wish I had three games in my backlog. I have more like 100 games in mine currently and I have come to terms with always having a backlog.

I have like 300 games in my backlog. I don't finish things anymore. Sometimes I don't even start them. I guess it's the depression. I gotta work on that in 2018. Oh shit, why am I revealing this here? I'm supposed to be shitposting. Well luckily the game revolves around a black guy so nobody's gonna come in here to read this. #watchdogs2 #prototype2

I know what you mean. I have 2,316 games in my backlog. I play about 2 hours of each game, move on to the next one because I'm always seeking that "new" feeling. I convince myself each time that I'll come back & finish the game I played the day before, just so I can move on. I will never finish a game again, if I'm honest. Like you, I have a huge chunk of games I'll probably never even start playing. It has to be the depression. Thank you for having the courage to speak out on that, because you give the rest of us the strength to come to grips with our issues. I knew it wasn't normal to cry this much, even though I know I deserve to feel like this. I didn't know watch dogs 2, mafia 3, prototype 2 all had black protagonists. I never supported any of these games,so I must have a subconscious hatred for them. I'm devaluing an entire culture by being so ignorant, & deferring my interest until their value is barely mentionable. Things like this make the cuts feel good sometimes. I deserve it.

I'm just glad you can acknowledge it.

I asked for a sealed copy the employees claimed they had one could not find it I was told new mafia 3 is just disc case no inserts or manual or dlc no difference buying it gutted than sealed the employee went to get the gutted case off the shelf the game includes no less than three inserts.

That's a long ass sentence...

I am serious about paying games for about 2 hours, then never touching them again. I hate that. Why the hell do I need to buy new games when I have (what feels like) millions of games to choose from...? I hate that now I go back & forth not on whether or not a game is good enough to buy, but if I'll ever play it. The worst part is, even if I admit that I won't, I still buy it, trade for it, even if I have only a passing interest. At least I know I'm not alone, but not sure that makes me feel better.

Welcome to GameStop. That will happen until you either befriend a manager, or start shopping somewhere that respects you as a consumer.

You'll survive. It's 2018. A chance to start fresh. Unlimited opportunities to redefine yourself. Unfortunately, games like mafia 3 faced adversity from the get go. Review and game play vids are just flooded with extremely vulgar and racist comments. It's strange how when the main character is black, so few people can relate or connect to him, regardless of the efforts of the developers to give you deep insight into his past and mindset. I'm not saying the games were perfect by any stretch however they entered the arena with a massive handicap.

False, I don't have any friends there and I get sealed copies. Maybe it is my local store but I have maybe gotten one gutted copy in several years. You can always says No and be done with it.

Did you not read my post about Used Games that were New? I got Doom for X1 sold as Used but it was brand spanking new with DLC codes minus the wrapper. Any complaints there?

I was mostly joking. These days, whether or not GameStop gives you gutted copies is most definitely a local issue that can be easily resolved. That wasn't always the case from that retailer, sadly, but that has been discussed ad nauseum on the CAG forums in the past, so I'll spare you the details (of which you may well be privy to).

I actually did read your post, but I was thinking it was in the Gamefly thread for some reason (where a similar discussion, regarding the conditions of used games, was being held). I don't doubt your experience at all. That's great you were able to come out ahead. The condition of every game that a CAG buys is ultimately their responsibility. We should always make certain that any game we purchase is in an acceptable condition. If not, return it, or simply don't buy it. There are absolutely exceptions, such as a retailer being notorious for shipping Collectors Editions in bubble mailers, etc. In the past, GS most certainly had systemic problems that led to them treating the buyer like an idiot. For the CAG's that still wanted to buy new games from GS during that period for whatever reason, befriending an employee (preferably a manager) was the most reliable way to hedge against them telling you that you were stupid to want a sealed copy, & ridicule you for thinking there was the smallest of discrepancies between a new/sealed game & an opened game that had most likely been rented by the employees (that was indeed one of their employee benefits that grandma's & soccer moms ended up financing, unbeknownst to them). That was in the past, though. Nowadays, they will almost always oblige, if able, when you ask for a sealed product in which you intend to pay full retail price for. I apologize for not making it clear that I was joking in that post.

some of the worst game play i've ever experienced

it's the only game i stopped playing and instead just watched all the cut scenes on youtube
