Nier restock at Best Buy?

McCHitman

CAGiversary!
Does anyone know when Best Buy will get a restock of Nier? I have a bunch of points and they don't have the game anwhere around me and it doesn't ship to me for some reason.

Weird how the physical stock of this has dried up recently (or maybe it's always been that way)? Stopped by BB last week and an associate there had never heard of it, said there were no copies within 250 miles, and that I should download it instead because digital copies are better anyway (which is a ringing endorsement for his own job security at a brick & mortar). Then dropped in Walmart and the 2 stoners working there had never heard of it either. So... gonna go ahead and bite on an "opened but new" GS copy and hope that January's Nintendo Direct doesn't announce a Switch port.

Wow that sucks. Thanks for the info

I have a few hundred bucks to Best Buy in certs and went for Nier, Yakuza 0, RE7:Gold Edition and Tekken 7 and they didn't have any of them.

But the no ship on Nier kinda ticked me off. I really don't want to get it elsewhere if I can get it for free essentially. But I also don't wanna wait and then be forced to get it at a higher price.

Pretty sure Square Enix will print, print, and reprint this title with how well it is selling.  As evidenced by the fact they still sell new copies of PS1 games.  Just give it some time.

If all else fails, you could buy a PSN gift card (since that won't expire), and just save that money until it goes on sale in the PSN store again.

Thank you Sony. Screw scalpers.

They have more now. Shipping is available!

Side note: I'm unable to search for current prices via the search bar, is that being worked on?

Tried buying it at Best Buy last week and none within 250 miles had any. GameStop I went to today didn't have any so I called another and got them to hold their last copy. Guy said someone else came in trying to buy it, why so popular?

The only thing I can think of is all the Game of the Year discussions. It's pretty high on most peoples personal GOTY lists.

Don't wish for it to not be ported on the Switch! That's just hoping people miss out on such a fantastic game! And quite honestly, the game is so great that I'll probably buy it again on the Switch anyway just to have another great game to play on the road for the rest of my life! I do agree that physical stock has dried up. I saw probably 5 or so copies at my BB on black friday, went back 2-3 days later for a return and all copies were gone. Was glad I was able to grab a copy before that. Maybe Square Enix is done manufacturing copies already? I don't know much about how companies manufacture and distribute so who knows.

this is why i got mine on black friday. i heard before black friday it was getting harder to find so i made sure to pick it up while it was on sale. it is such a great game. hope more are made so everyone can enjoy it.

It would run at 30 FPS at 720P (if lucky) docked and this is coming from a Switch owner.

I have yet to read a review that praises the game's frame rate or resolution. I'm here for the story and soundtrack, man.
It's because these days it is standard for an action game on PS4 to run at high resolution high framerate. Story and soundtrack is important, but so is gameplay. It's a Platinum game which means it is action heavy and framerate will matter. On the PS4, the game runs at a pretty consistent 60 fps (even more so on the Pro).

Was able to price match this and Yakuza from my pick up the other day. Spent $19, got $25 in credit.

I freaking love this site.
