Are there two different versions of the PS4 gold headset like the PSVR v1 and v2?

I’ve been considering getting the PS4 gold headset since I got the new PSVR v2 Skyrim bundle. In searching I’ve found two different types of packaging for it, having me wonder if there are old and new versions.

I think so.  I've owned two, and they are different.  The first one had the infamous cracking problem on the head band.  The newer one I have has an extra joint to prevent that from happening.  Also, the first one had an issue with the ear cups fraying and falling off, which hasn't happened with my second one.

Sorry I can't provide any official documentation and I don't have my original headset, but there were certainly changes.  I recommend the headset if you can find it on sale.  Don't pay more than $80 and it can be found on sale in the $60-$70 range every so often.  It is very convenient and easy to use, providing decent sound quality.  Not very much bass at all though.  It works on PC, Switch, PS4, and Ps3 wirelessly very easily and with an included 3.5mm cable with everything else.

It isn't my primary headset anymore, but it is the best you can get for the price.  I stacked a few deals and got the Corsair VOID, which is much better in every way.
