Any thoughts on Sword Art Online or God Eater Resurrection for someone with no experience and some curiosity about them?

God Eater is probably the easiest hunting type game to get into as the combat is a bit more forgiving than others (can cancel out of almost any action for example) and more importantly incredibly unbalanced so you can look up OP builds and just cruise through the game with no trouble (or if you want it to be challenging you can just avoid those OP builds.) That said like all these types of games the core gameplay can be very repetitive because you are often fighting the same monsters (you are just fighting them on different maps or multiple monsters at once.) At its core it is a loot game so it's very much about fighting monsters for materials so you can upgrade your gear to fight even harder versions of those monsters.

Don't even bother if that type of repetition is unappealing, but if it sounds fun it's worth it especially at that price.

SAO Hollow Fragment PS4 is extremely repetitive, though they translated this version better than the first Vita version. You kind of are thrown in later on with a somewhat strong Kirito dual blade build, but can try for other builds, though it makes sense to be on that one, since you already have points in it. The story is super weak overall, and I got through a good portion of it, but dropped it out of repetitiveness and shallow character developments. I think if you like SAO you may enjoy it, but it seems pretty half baked otherwise and very generic.

Damn I didn’t even play Jazzpunk since buying it in the big sale last week for $8 now it’s $5, but I really feel bad for people who bought that jack box ripoff CSI game.

If it's any consultation that game is pretty bad and I traded it in, and I never trade in games, so that says something.

So just go with Puyo Puyo Tetris instead. Good to know.

Such a good game but if you want just a regular Tetris go for Tetris DS

Can someone clarify, the digital version of pac-man Championship edition 2 doesn't include the 3 arcade games galaga, original pac-man, and dig-dug like the disc version?

No but I don't think flash sale games ever get a PS Plus discount.

Thanks guys. Probably bite on God Eater and pass on SAO.

We just got a PS4 and I've been wanting to get some games for it.  Are there any PS exclusives on this list anyone could recommend?  I'd love to get some suggestions, particularly something the kids could play.

-B

Well, you don't specify the age of your kids, but both LittleBigPlanet 3 and Knack are exclusives and kid-friendly.  Other non-exclusive options could be Goat Simulator, Trine 2/3, and Unravel.

If you just want good Tetris I wouldn’t recommend Puyo Puyo either. While it has a Tetris only mode, and I didn’t play a ton of it, the Mean Bean parts are terribly unbalanced and the mode that switches between is hard as nails and confusing and often unfair and cheap.

I'd only recommend it if you're a trophy whore. Other than that, I thought it was a bad game.

Is Metal Slug Antholgy couch and online co-op?

You should be able to use SharePlay to play it in online co-op.

The PS4 ver of Farming Simulator 15 shows up at full price for me $29.99. PS3 is showing the right one though.

Dark Cloud 2 and Rogue Galaxy are no-brainers at that price if you've never played them and like JRPGs. Anyway, Hidden Agenda looks interesting but seems like it'd be a hassle to play and Plat.

Yeah think I am gonna end up getting Rogue Galaxy for the backlog (shame on me and all that but dang that price is good.) Thought about Dark Cloud a few times but will probably just pass again for now, seems to go on sale frequently enough.

No - those games are in the Arcade Classics bundle. Championship Edition 2 is a current gen game.

It definitely was on sale when I was putting the list together, but I'll remove it since they removed the discount. Sorry about that.

I'd say if you have to pick one then Rogue Galaxy is probably the better of the two in my opinion but not by much as they're both outstanding games. Level 5 has developed some of my favorite JRPGs which is why I'm super hyped for Ni No Kuni 2.

Is there any reason to even get Rogue Galaxy and Dark Cloud 2 besides Trophy support if I already own them on PS2?

.

I recently got a PS4 as well. I'm picking up The Order and Little Big Planet 3.

That's You would probably be fun with kids or a group of friends if there are enough smart phones for everybody. From what I saw, a picture of a player will show up on screen then ask everybody to doodle over that picture. For example draw what this person would look like if stranded on an island for 20 years.

Edit: Holy crap LBP3 has a ton of dlc

They look and play better. But if you don’t care about that stuff then no.

and Rogue Legacy shouldnt be missed    Rogue Legacy should be on sale wtf is a Rogue Galaxy

Rogue Galaxy is a very high quality PS2 era action combat JRPG.

Pros- great characters, great setting [space pirates!], great combat system, great upgrade system tons of stuff to do.

Cons- tons of stuff to do.  tons.  Hunting badges for killing x monster?  Yup.  Find the rare ones that spawn in a 5 foot square radius and run in circles and hope it spawns [again and again, since you need to kill 30 of them!].    Oh.  Bugs? Sure, let's have a bug collecting system and then a whole bug combat mini-game/system.     Crafting?  Oh, yeah, lets eventually have you open a complex factory for crafting.

It's burn out city if you like to do everything [I've never actually finished, despite multiple attempts], but it's good.

Is the Flash sale not displaying on the web PSN store for anyone else? Just doesn't show the games.
