I bought Mario Party 8 NEW off eBay

The Seller sent me the "Saudi Arabian" version

I contacted the seller about a refund, they refused saying

""It works for US region. Have you tried it?"

I've not opened it, it's still shrink wrapped on my TV stand.

Would there be any censorship or regional differences between THIS and the US game?
It has a ESRB rating on it, but also says it's made only for Saudi Arabia and Malaysia even though sites like Wikipedia say that's considered the same region as the US/CANADA.

I've already started the refund process and will be contacting them again, or should I just open and play it?

FRONT: Big ol "Saudi Arabia" tag on it

Back: For Saudi Arabia/Malaysia only (beneath the Dolby

It works on your US system so I would just play it.  A US version brand new would cost a lot more.

I'm more worried about language barrier, cut and censored content.

Also apparently around the same price of Amazon but by a 3rd party seller, so it may be another SAM game.

The game is in English. There is no censorship other one word being changed for the UK version, and I don't know if they ever change it for other version.

It just feels weird... why would they send it to me?

Also where did you find the info? I was searching sites like "Cutting Room Floor" and etc.

It was at the Mario Party 8 wiki. The reality is the ME market is so small they would just not release a game instead of putting in the time to censor it.

I think there are a lot of Saudi Arabi, UAE, versions of Xenoblade Chronicles floating around on Amazon too. I would prefer something intended for the US of A but if your only interest is playing the game, this should probably work but if the seller didn't tell you before purchase that is BS.  If you only want to play the game, there is always the soft mod and rom route.

That is a deceptive listing, you should have no trouble winning your dispute but it's still a hassle
Returned it after three times contacting them and they kept saying "it works in America, just try it"
Didn't believe them, and now waiting for my refund.

"Just try it," what kind of bs is that, how about putting the proper item description in the first place. I've never had this happen to me on ebay, I tend to ignore stock item photos or ask questions before I purchase but I've had this happen to me several times with items on fulfilled through Amazon. Just happened to me today with a switch game, got a pegi instead. =/ Now I'm debating if I should just take an exacto knife down the middle of it before I return it.
