Rocket League has the same BS "locked crate" system as what you are describing for PUBG. Game chats now often devolve into people half-ass playing while spamming "trade? trade? trade?" over and over...

I bought a key before I understood how it worked (I initially thought I got everything in the loot box it was telling me was in there) and ended up with a super-crappy decal. My enjoyment of the game has gone down because I get annoyed at all the crap.

lol at people being shocked about the DOTA loot model in newer games.

I’ve never played DOTA before and I heard about this Ponzi scheme when they started it back in 2012.

It is a bunch of bullshit though. We’ve got DOTA players to thank for that.

I'm 36 and still buy Fruity Pebbles. That awesome taste will never go away!

I also still like Apple Jacks, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Froot Loops. Did you know it's actually FROOT Loops, not Fruit Loops?

I totally disagree with Cheapy regarding the new Blade Runner.: You should absolutely watch the original first before watching 2049.  It's a great movie and informs so much of what is happening and the characters involved in the sequel.

Also ****Spoilers kind of but not really***  Edward James Olmos IS in Blade Runner 2049.

Yeah PUBG adopting the CS:GO model sucks, but most of the cheap/semi-cheap online games on Steam (all of Valve's games, Payday 2, Rocketleage as mentioned above, etc.) rely on the marketplace for their profits so it's not really surprising.

FWIW I could potentially see parent indignation reaching congress and getting real money marketplaces on consoles shut down eventually if they ever spring up (which is probably why they haven't even though you know MS looks across the state at Valve and drools) because nobody sane is going to pay thousands of dollars for a smuggled Playstation should consoles get banned, and Sony wouldn't make more income from the trading/purchases that trickled through than they do with their current business model. Trying to shut things down or even regulate them on the software only side of PC/mobile/steam however would be like moving heaven and earth though. Consider the losing battle with software piracy (or worse, child trafficking...), only with players actually making/possessing money involved.

Thanks for reading my Spider-Man 3 question ;)

My joke behind saying Wombat liked Man of Steel was Shipwreck's story that after the movie ended in the theater, Wombat gave him a thumbs up, lol.

I can't help myself, that movie had a lot of good, memorable scenes in. When Peter encounters Harry as New Goblin and they fight, the whole Sandman story arc that made you feel compassion for him, Peter and MJ just hanging in his web and he says he loves her, and the last scene when they get back together with a slow dance at the end. So good.. but that's probably just me.

"I love the NPD reports! Any chance of just going down the list from 10 to 1? Love your commentary on it all as well."

Thanks for the shout-out on the last podcast. This is what I said last week and there is no sarcasm meant here! I would like just a quick run-down of the top 10 - that would be appreciated. My "love your commentary remark" was for all of the subtle snark that you all like to interject (like what Shipwreck says about the non-surprise of a NBA2k game in the list).

Thank you again for a very entertaining, weekly podcast!

None of you guys played the Sea of Thieves closed beta? I was looking forward to that.
That game was so hyped and lots of people said it was fun but any time I've played I and others have no idea what to do.

I agree with you. I hadn’t seen the original BR in ages, but knowing who SPOILER is made the scene late in the movie when SPOILER happens a lot more impactful to me.

Yeah, it's definitely not a new business model at all. Technically it's even been around since 2010 and was introduced in TF2. Poor naive Cheapy thinking this is somehow the straw that broke the camel's back.

I’m not sure it was out before they recorded this episode. Hopefully they’ll talk about it next week.

Hope you guys get to feeling better!  I Have been listening to you guys on and off for many years, but I have to say I have been listening to them all this past year.  I really do enjoy hearing the different views you guys have.  If Cheapy could just stop farting and burping, my wife would listen as well (Grin).  Keep up the good work.

I was curious, how many games is Shipwreck up to?  I just hit 3,100!

Yeah, I just want to wait for the full release. Sounds fun!

Thanks for the shout-out, Cheapy. Yeah, I've been listening to the CAGcast for awhile. I'm sorta curious what you guys will think of Monster Hunter, but I had to ask friends and watch videos for stuff to make sense. So many weapons!

I'm 31 and still love cereal lol. Also, that Mario cereal was pretty bad...actually it was really bad.

Also, Similac Alimentum is stupid expensive. I feel your pain Wombat.

I want to say Shipwreck's story was about seeing Batman v Superman with Wombat. That's what I recall although I might be wrong. Where'st the CAG Historian?

Question for Cheapy and all: Have you guys ever checked out Game of Thrones, or Westworld?

Cheapy (or Mrs. Cheapy), Japanese question for you.

My kids' judo instructor tells the class to yell banjo if they need to use the bathroom. From online translators, it sounds like this may not be the best word for kids to use. Is he teaching my kids to curse in Japanese?
