GOOGLE IS TRYING TO ESCHEAT ME!

As of March 30, 2018, you have $2.56 of credit remaining on your Google Call Phones account. This is a friendly reminder to either (1) make a call, or (2) add credit to your account between now and May 1, 2018 to avoid Google having to potentially escheat these funds to the government.

What is Escheatment?
Companies in the U.S. are obliged to give assets that they believe are abandoned to U.S. state governments. The appropriate state government is the state where you've told us you reside; if you reside outside the U.S., then the state of Delaware, our state of incorporation, is the appropriate state government.
Different states have different rules for how long you must be inactive, but generally it is between 2 and 5 years.
Once Google escheats the money to the state government, then you can apply to your state government unclaimed property office to have the money returned to you.

YOU GOOGLE!  YOU WILL NOT ESCHEAT ME!  HOW DO I PROTECT MYSELF?  

Just call a Nigerian prince with the rest of those funds.

I'm sure he'll reimburse you for it anyways.

If you checked in the dictionary, "escheat" is when property reverts to state ownership because someone died without a will and no heirs.

EDIT: I'm assuming here they mean that the money will go into a state account for unclaimed funds from which you can petition to get your money back if you miss their deadline.
