CAGiversary!
I think it starts either today or tomorrow, I was just placing an order when I saw the ad although I'm having a little trouble finding a list of titles for this sale.

Any help will be appreciated.

Still doesn't work online. Was really hoping they goofed again and the Elite discount would apply to the original prices again.

Since I have a copy of a rare ps3 game coming in from another location this is perfect for me right now.

I think I'm getting these:

Dead Space 2

Lost Planet Extreme Condition

Infinite Undiscovery

The Saboteur

This has been going for a while. I just bought my second batch of PS3 and Xbox 360 titles last Saturday. Good for those last-gen collectors/hoarders/whatever you want to call us that sounds nice and isn't too judgy. Not too many PS4/Xbox One games that aren't Destiny/sports games. Can you tell that I like using backslashes in my posts? :D

this. Damn these instore deals. Since i mostly care about 'retro' this doesnt do much for me. Their little display with 4.99 selection games is usually pitiful.

It's supposed to work online, it's only on preowned games but the above link was for all games under $4.99.

I can't post an image because I have less than 3 posts (wow I'm a veteran lurker, I've been using this site for years) but if you click the ad on the website that says 4 for $10 and scroll down, it says "4 for $10 on Select Pre-Owned Games $4.99 or Under. Shop online or in-store today. Offer valid through 5/13/18."

So set your filters to only include pre-owned titles or follow the link on that page.

Edit: And by the way seems like they artificially jacked the price up on some things to exclude them from the sale, the above link has ESO on PS4 for $4.99 but in the link to the sale it's listed as $6.99 used so you can't get it.

I'm seeing in the top right corner in-store only of the logo on the main page.

It could be an accident but this is what it says on their ad page.

Edit: Maybe they just meant you can look at what's in the store online... in which case that's some confusing and terrible wording but technically valid I guess.

I'm guessing the DS games will 100% be no case and everything else will probably broken or no case right?

I'm sure you're right and it's supposed to work online, but when does Gamestop's website ever work properly. OK, exaggeration, but they do have a lot of site issues.

On the main page of GameStop.com, they have a banner about the 4 for $10 and it says "In store only".

I wouldn't ever buy anything used from Gamestop pre-owned without assuming that will be the case
Even when it's supposed to be new, be careful. Last year I tried buying Shantae, New mind you, the price was like $15 and the dude just pulls out the disc in a sleeve. I ask him what happened to the box, the booklet, and the soundtrack (it was a limited edition set) and he just tells me "yeah, people steal them....so you still wanna buy it?"

If they scan your card there shouldn't be a reason to ask for your number.
That should work. Unless someones willing to have their ph# out in public. Would be easier if the 4/$10 would work online.

What about a picture of my card?

Just download the app and sign in with your info and go to card details and they scan the barcode.

So is that the reason they've started asking for a phone number during checkout? They used to just ask if I had a powerup rewards card but this year now they ask for a phone number and the shit pisses me off. I don't have one and don't wanna state my phone number. Why change, just keep asking if I have one instead of asking for my number. It's much more easier that way

I think this is ymmv because my three locations only ask for my card.

I think employees have gotten used to asking for a phone number (under the assumption that the customer doesn't ever have their membership card).  They're essentially just trying to skip the first step and save themselves time and annoyance I'd imagine.  It's standard, robotic procedure at many stores I've been to, albeit against policy.

Unless there's some bizarre new policy where they get your card and still ask for your number, which seems unlikely.

They usually only ask for my number if I don't already have the card out. They probably don't wait to wait for people to flip through their wallets and dig it out.

Same here. Went in last night and picked up 9 PS3 titles (one didn't count for the deal but thats ok). Casually & nicely asked the employee to let me have the best looking cases & discs, which he did. Even gave me the steelbook case for AC3.

Anybody want to share their finds from this sale? Half the fun for me is reading about other people's hauls.

I lead a sad and solitary life.

I picked up a few old simple vita games last night just since I picked up a vita again. None of the games I grabbed didn’t work. $8 with elites after it all. But 4/10 never really has anything crazy good

I've only ever gotten one preowned Vita game for less than $4.99 from GameStop, and it was Sword Art Online. I think GameStop assumes that if you can afford to collect physical Vita games, you probably don't need a deal.

Yeah prices seem to have went up on some off them. Lucky enough one store I hit yesterday had the old price on the god of war collection and they adjusted down for me.
They have like 5-10 games 4.99 or less it’s just finding them in store. Most are sports tho

I stopped by my local Gamestop and was pleasantly surprised to see this deal but then after checking out I realized exacty why I don’t go there anymore. I noticed one of the games was the ‘greatest hits’ edition and I asked “do you mind if I get the version that does not say ‘greatest hits’, I don’t mean to be a PIA...” He obliged but made the remark that “most other stores wouldn’t allow you to do that, afterall you’re only buying the game”. WTF does that mean? While yes, I am buying “the game” that game also comes with a case and I’d personally like for it to match... I don’t want to generalize but it seems almost every Gamestop I go to is like this.

Got into the store near me at the last minute this afternoon and grabbed the following:

Assassin's Creed III - Xbox 360
Diablo III (vanilla) - Xbox 360
The Last of Us - PS3
Tropico 3 - Xbox 360

All of them were complete. As I was being rung up, the associate swapped out my cases and manuals for Assassin's Creed and The Last of Us for absolutely no reason. I mentioned it to him and he switched them back. A minor inconvenience, but I hate when that happens.

I understood why there was so much hate for the sale though. I looked for 20 minutes before I found four good games. Backwards compatibility sure has driven up Xbox 360 game prices there, and it looked like anything with a popular license (DC, Marvel, Sonic, etc) attached to it had also been marked up on PS3 and 360.

This is EXACTLY what happened to me. I have to give it to the guy too, he was like a magician with how swift & quickly he did it...

On a side note I grabbed the following (all PS3):

Tiger Woods 2012 Masters Edition
Uncharted 2
Assassin’s Creed
God of War III

Was today the last day for the sale? I totally blanked on Xbox 360 backwards compatibility and now want to take another peak... any worthwhile games that are backwards compatible?

Today was the last day. I'm sure they will do it again at some point though.

Grabbed four 360 titles.  Sega Super Stars Tennis, Syndicate, Steel Battalion:  Heavy Armor and Sesame Street:  Once Upon A Monster for my kids.

I presume the sale is done since it ended on the 13th right? It was mothers day when i noticed so i had no chance to get it. I had a list of game to get, doubting they'd have been there anyway, but I always like to look.

The associate told me yesterday was the last day for the 4 for $10 when I was in the store. It'll happen again at some point though.
