Black Ops 3 Free With PS Plus

Thanks. I haven’t been paying attention to E3. I think I have it on Xbox One already, but happy to have a free copy on PS4
 
There is a zombie map in the base game but I don't think the chronicles map pack is included, if that's what yer thinking of, mt3ch. It's just the base game @.a

Is every single zombie map/mode of CoD the same exact thing? Stuck in a building or small map space trying to keep zombies from entering and attacking?

Boarding up windows while running around in circles got really boring way too fast for me. It was also my least favorite part in RE4.

I truly miss Left 4 Dead.

I absolutely hated the campaign after playing it.  It was my least favorite COD campaign.  But after reading some in depth plot analysis, I've warmed up to it quite a bit.  It probably has the best/most intriguing concept of any COD but some crucial parts of the story are so poorly executed (key information and plot points buried in rapid text that you can't read without slowing down, walls of codex text, or in the comic prequel) that it makes figuring out what's going on as you play very difficult.

I'm not a big FPS fan, I think I've literally only played COD 2... and Ghosts for about 10 minutes combined, but I AM a fan of free.

Which is why I'm a little worried the black ops pass for part 4 is going to segregate the player base again. Charging for maps is really lame and one way to kill off the longevity of the player base. Lots of good zombie maps are stuck behind the paywall.

Keep an eye on Earthfall. It was at PAX last year, and from what i played of it, it was a carbon copy of Left 4 Dead, but with aliens instead of zombies. Comes out next month.

It's kind of divisive, I guess. I really liked it. It's probably the trippiest/weirdest COD game, with augmented humans and robots and a strange "what's real and what's not" type story that sometimes explores the interesting moral implications of using your technology, etc. Definitely not the type of game for those "I want to play a faithful recreation of World War II" types, but it's a really cool sci-fi campaign. The best part is that there's also a "Nightmare Mode," which is the whole campaign but in a different order with zombies as enemies and a reimagined zombie version of the story. So you really kind of get two campaigns.

For anyone picking this up, give the multiplayer a shot. It’s been a while since I played it, but I think it’s one of the better COD multiplayer titles.

not at all, a bunch of people play it for the storyline actually haha

generally the maps are much bigger nowadays and it's not feasible to keep the zombies out - you try to horde the zombies together then shoot them with crazy "wonder weapons" usually (ray gun, black hole gun, lightning bow etc.)

it depends on the map, some maps you can camp on while others you have to stay mobile. Der Eisendrache (DLC 1 of Black Ops 3) and a bunch of the Zombie Chronicles maps are fan favorites

 
This is a smart move by Activision and Sony. I’ve always played COD on Xbox, but the game feels smoother on PS4 (gameplay and controls). I might consider Blacks Ops 4 for PS4 because of this.
 
I agree that the multiplayer modes are good. Maybe not as good as Titanfall but I enjoy it more than COD:WWII. It’s definitely worth checking out.
