Nintendo Switch Pro Controller $60 w/ free next day (Amazon)

Did they announce any new versions of this at E3?
No. The dpad is still flawed on a design level.

Pretty interesting that this controller goes on sale pretty much every month. Must be slow sales figures if Nintendo is desperate enough to push retailer sales.

Yeah. The controller is great but the MSRP is insulting. Even $60 is questionable so if they sell st that price, their profit margins will still be huge making them not very desperate at all in the long run.

$60 is a good price when you compare the tech inside it compared to something like a DualShock4 that goes for $40. It has HD rumble, NFC reader, and 4-5 times the battery life which imo is the most important thing. DS4's battery life is the worst thing about it.

All features I would gladly trade for analog triggers, or a d-pad that works as well as the new DualShock 4's...

The DualShock 4 tech also includes a touchpad, built in microphone, speaker and audio jack, and lightbar in its manufacturing cost. I wouldn't be surprised if the DS4 costs more to produce.

I suspect that the pro controllers are sold at enormous margins. The joy-cons are sold for essentially $40 a piece and I wouldn't be surprised if a single joy-con cost more to produce than a pro controller.

This has been on sale regularly since march. The GCN controller works on switch and will be sold when smash cmes out though and the wii u pro works with a 20 dollar third party adapter. No reason to even pay 60 on this at least not form me. For 60 i'll get god of war or another switch game.

Built in microphone, speaker, audio jack, and touch pad and has the same battery life of a Wii U Gamepad isn't much to write home about especially considering the Wii U gamepad has a screen and a camera. All those features only add to eating into the battery power. I'd rather take the Switch Pro controller's 40 hour battery life over the DS4's 8 hours with features I can't turn off. Also, no the PS4 tech doesn't cost more to produce. The HD rumble is a new tech that even the Steam controller uses. There's also a better motion control sensor built into it and the larger battery which you know costs more.

damn $60 for a controller and it's a deal.. Nintendo fans are paying through the noses
Dude. I have like 7 different controllers that work with both the Wii and Wii U. I got Mario Party for the Wii U. Despite having SEVEN controllers, I cannot play a 4 player couch game with friends. THAT IS SO INSANE. Nintendo wants me to buy more controllers.

Really salty about having to spend $60+ on this Switch Pro Controller, when the Wii U pro controller could just as easily work.

FWIW, I got the controller and really like it. Has a nice weight and feels like quality. Of course, if I didn't have to buy it I wouldn't.

Also, $60 is not that far off from what a X1 or PS4 controller goes for.

Battery life has really nothing to do with production cost (they both use the same types of batteries, the Pro controller's just being slightly bigger) ...

I wasn't talking about whether you liked the features, just about what the markup is.

The more expensive tech in the Pro Controller is probably the newer gyro and HD rumble, in which case yeah, you can compare it to the Steam Controller which retails for the standard $50 (regularly on sale for $35) we've come to expect of controllers ... not $70.

To Nintendo's credit, they've completely opened up their system to third-party controllers. Look at 8bitdo's offerings.

With my two JoyCons, my pro controller, and my 8bitdo, I can play any 4 player couch co-op games, have a nice pro controller at home, and have a somewhat smaller 8bitdo SF30pro to use as a "pro controller" substitute while I travel.

If you just want 4 player couch co-op, one of the smaller Joy-Con style 8bitdo offerings should be enough to get that fourth player in Mario Kart or Overcooked, or Super Mario Party when that comes out. Try the new 8bitdo Zero 2, it should retail for ~$20.

Or you can also buy really cheap adapters from 8bitdo to use your Wii U Pro Controllers, DualShock 4s, Xbox One controllers etc on the Switch.

Dude, this $60 is the SALE price, not the regular price. Hence, Nintendo fans are paying through the nose with Nintendo tax

What astounding here is Nintendo fans try to justify this rip off. Just like watching a raped victim justify her rape and said it wasn't the rapist's fault >.<

so the D-Pad flaw got fixed?
I don't think so. I have two third revision controllers and it still doesn't work correctly. Maybe they have a new revision out I am unaware of but I can't find any information.

Anyone who says the xenoblade or third revision controller fixes the issue is wrong.
